Abstract: A method that includes replacing a standard keyboard displayed on a display of a first mobile device with a second shopping keyboard. The second shopping keyboard includes third keys that represent purchasable items (a product and/or service). After one of the third keys, which represents a particular item, is selected, a sharing option and/or purchasing option is/are displayed. When selected, the sharing option supplies information about the particular item to a messaging application that communicates the information to a second mobile device. When selected, the purchasing option initiates purchase of the particular item. The method may also include displaying a first shopping keyboard comprising second keys representing businesses. After one of the second keys, representing a particular business, is selected, the second shopping keyboard is displayed. The purchasable items represented by the third keys are available from the particular business.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an aerosol delivery device filling system. The system includes multiple source containers each respectively including a differing aerosol precursor composition. The system further includes a mixing container configured to engage the source containers to receive and mix the aerosol precursor compositions to form a mixed aerosol precursor composition. An aerosol delivery device may engage the mixing container to receive at least a portion of the mixed aerosol precursor composition. A related method for customizing an aerosol precursor composition is also provided.

Abstract: Apparatus is provided featuring a first and second cells. The first cell receives an ore slurry having mineral particles of interest, receives unexpanded polymer microspheres comprising a surface having mineral collector chemistry attached thereto with molecules for attaching the mineral particles of interest, causes the unexpanded polymer microspheres to expand substantially in volume into expanded polymer microspheres having a substantially increased sphere surface area, and provides an expanded polymer microsphere foam layer comprising the expanded polymer microspheres with attached mineral particles of interest. The second cell receives the expanded polymer microsphere foam layer, and causes the expanded polymer microspheres to collapse substantially in volume into collapsed polymer microspheres having a substantially reduced sphere surface area that results in a mechanical shearing off of the attached mineral particles of interest.

Abstract: A racking assembly for an electrical apparatus is provided. The racking assembly includes a movable carriage assembly and a drive assembly. The movable carriage assembly is sized to fit within a housing assembly and is structured to be moved between a first position and a second position. The carriage assembly is further structured to support at least one electrical component. The drive assembly includes a motor assembly and a positioning assembly. The motor assembly is structured to impart movement to said positioning assembly. The motor assembly is coupled to said positioning assembly. The positioning assembly is structured to impart movement to said carriage assembly and to move said carriage assembly from said first position to said second position. The positioning assembly is coupled to said carriage assembly. In this configuration, the racking assembly is structured to move the carriage assembly, and therefore the electrical apparatus, between the first and second positions.

Abstract: A security server tracks malicious objects detected by malware detection applications that scan for malicious objects on clients. The security server also receives client information from the clients indicating client states. The client state describes one or more protection applications executing on the client that seek to identify and prevent malicious objects from taking malicious actions based on real-time monitoring. Thus, the security server may identify when the protection application fails to detect a malicious object. In addition, the security server maps detection events of malicious objects with corresponding client states to generate aggregate detection information for a population of clients. Analytical data can be derived from the aggregate detection information to identify trends useful for evaluating different types of protection applications.

Abstract: There is disclosed a storage unit for high performance computing system, a storage network and a method of providing storage and of accessing storage. The storage unit includes an enclosure constructed and arranged to receive plural storage devices to provide high density, high capacity storage. The unit also includes a network connector and at least one integrated application controller constructed and arranged to run a scalable parallel file system for accessing data stored on the storage devices and providing server functionality to provide file access to a client via the network connector.

Abstract: A method for in vivo RNA or protein expression is provided. The method includes introducing a double-stranded concatemeric DNA into a eukaryotic cell to generate a desired RNA or protein. The double-stranded concatemeric DNA includes a plurality of tandem repeat sequences, wherein each of the plurality of tandem repeat sequences comprises an expression sequence. The double-stranded concatemeric DNA comprises one or more phosphorothioated nucleotides, wherein a ratio of phosphorothioated nucleotides to total nucleotides in the double-stranded concatemeric DNA is at least 1:1600. A eukaryotic cell comprising an exogeneous, double-stranded concatemeric DNA comprising the plurality of tandem repeat sequences is also provided.

Moreover, the video recording device may enter a mode of operation associated with using the video recording apparatus automatically when inserted into a holster.

Abstract: A computer network security system includes a central controller in communication with software-based endpoint agents operating on individual host computers. The endpoint agents monitor new connection requests to and from their respective hosts, comparing the connections to cached rules obtained from the controller, and holding new connections while escalating requests for applicable rules and/or directives to the controller in real-time when no applicable rules are available in their caches. The endpoint agents can be configured to present a pop-up dialog requesting enhanced authentication credentials from a user on a host in response to a connection request from a restricted network-based application. The pop-up dialog enables enhanced or two-factor authentication functionality to be overlaid on any networked application regardless of the application's inherent authentication capability.

Abstract: The present approach improves the query performance of a database in a manner that is transparent to a user. In one aspect, this approach creates separate partition tables that are not directly accessible to a user of the database. A client-facing aspect of the database is a logical model which may correspond to a single, main table with which the user interacts. Thus, queries or operations may be generated on the client side in the context of the logical model. A database or query layer can then, transparent to the user, translate the user generated requests into query language that addresses the proper partitions to generate a result set or otherwise perform a database operation.

Abstract: A recording system for an emergency response unit includes a first data collection device configured to record a first video, audio or data segment with an incident identifier and transmit a message including the incident identifier. A second data collection device may receive the message and, as appropriate, record at least a second video, audio or data segment with the incident identifier, allowing the first segment and the second segment to be associated using the incident identifier. In other embodiments, a first recording device may begin recording video, audio or legal evidence data with an incident identifier, and a control system may receive a message including the incident identifier from the first recording device, identify one or more additional recording devices located within a certain distance of the first recording device, and obtain recordings from the one or more additional recording devices.

Abstract: A retractable broom comprises a handle section and a broom head section. The handle section includes a retractable handle with one or more movable locking joints including locking mechanisms that are configured to connect and interlock the sections of the retractable handle together. An arm, including a stationary locking joint, having a locking mechanism, at one end of the arm connects and interlocks the retractable handle to the arm. The other end of the arm is fixedly attached to a brush head. The broom head section also comprises a retractable cover and third locking joint with a locking mechanism that connects and interlocks the retractable cover to the arm at two or more positions, with at least one position causing the retractable cover fully cover the brush head and a second position causing the retractable cover to at least partial uncover the brush head.

Abstract: A resealable closure for a container in which package integrity is indicated by a structure which connects the closure to a remaining portion of the container which must be broken in order to gain access to the contents of the container for a first time. The package integrity feature, in one form, includes a structure associated with the closure, wherein upon opening the closure for a first time, the structure stretches, increasing a length of the structure until the structure eventually breaks, leaving one or both residual ends of the broken structure rippled or curved upward from the remainder of the container. In one alternative form, the structure is associated with a pull tab of the sealing panel, which comprises the closure, whereby either the structure must be broken first, prior to pulling back the sealing panel, or while pulling back the sealing panel for a first time, the structure breaks, prior to gaining access to the contents therein.

Abstract: A light fixture includes a housing, a recessed channel, a light-emitting element, and a lens positioned over the light-emitting element. The housing includes a mounting surface. The recessed channel includes a bottom and a pair of side walls extending along the length of the mounting surface. The light-emitting element is coupled to the bottom of the recessed channel. Abstract: A system includes a first optical communication interface and a second optical communication interface optically coupled via a free-space communication channel. The interfaces are spaced at variable distances. Each interface includes an optical source to provide a beam of electromagnetic energy and an optical receiver to receive the beam to bi-directionally communicate with the other interface via the channel. The first optical communication interface may be coupled to a sub-chassis. The second optical communication interface may be coupled to a device frame. The device frame may be movably coupled to the chassis. Communication may utilize multi-input, multi-output processing configured by a calibration matrix. A shutter may be positioned to receive the beam or be positioned clear of the beam depending on the distance between the interfaces.

In certain embodiments, the peptides are conjugated to a particle coating for use in ultrasound imaging, MRI, or targeted therapy. In certain embodiments, peptides disclosed herein are conjugated to a drug or a particle containing a drug useful for targeted therapy.
