Abstract: A method and apparatus for identifying blood vessels in ultrasound images and displaying blood vessels in ultrasound images are described. In some embodiments, the method is implemented by a computing device and includes assigning, with a neural network implemented at least partially in hardware of the computing device, one of a vein classification and an artery classification to one or more blood vessels in ultrasound images. The method also includes determining a misclassification for one blood vessel that denotes the neural network assigning the one of the vein classification and the artery classification to the one blood vessel in one ultrasound image and the other of the vein classification and the artery classification to the one blood vessel in additional ultrasound images. The method includes displaying, in the one ultrasound image, an indication of the other of the vein classification and the artery classification for the one blood vessel.

Abstract: A method for calculating a heart parameter includes receiving a series of two-dimensional images of a heart, the series covering at least one heart cycle. The method includes calculating a volume of the heart in a first systole image based on an orientation of the heart in the first systole image and a segmentation of the heart in the first systole image, and a volume of the heart in a first diastole image based at least on an orientation of the heart in the first diastole image and a segmentation of the heart in the first diastole image; determining the heart parameter based at least on the volume of the heart in the first systole image and the volume of the heart in the first diastole image; determining a confidence score of the heart parameter; and displaying the heart parameter and the confidence score.

Abstract: Introduced here are approaches to transferring relevant information from a first electronic device (also called a “source electronic device”) that is presently outputting an interfacing signal that is detectable by a second electronic device (also called a “recipient electronic device”) via modification of the interfacing signal. Such modification causes the relevant information to be appended to the interfacing signal and then transferred to the recipient electronic device. This can be accomplished by superimposing another signal that is representative of the relevant information onto the interfacing signal. Thus, the relevant information can be transferred from the source electronic device to the recipient electronic device by superimposing a signal onto the interfacing signal that is output by the source electronic device.

Abstract: A method includes: acquiring chewing/swallowing information via a network from a sensing device installed on a user, wherein the chewing/swallowing information is related to chewing of the user when the user eats a first printed food; determining based on the chewing/swallowing information, a meal duration of the user, and determining based on a first print pattern and the meal duration, a second print pattern for a second printed food to be created by a food printer; and transmitting print control information to the food printer via the network, wherein the print control information is used for causing the food printer to create the second printed food using the determined second print pattern.

One search filter for filtering dishes or restaurants by using rating results of dishes or restaurants rated by sense-of-taste top scorers is provided on a dish search screen. When the evaluation value of the user's sense of taste satisfies a certain condition for the sense-of-taste top scorers, the rating information indicating the user's rating of the dish or the restaurant is included in the rating results of the dishes or restaurants rated by the sense-of-taste top scorers.

Abstract: Introduced here are approaches to authenticating unknown persons based on variations in the spatial properties and directionality of blood flow through vessels over time. At a high level, these approaches rely on monitoring vascular dynamics to recognize unknown persons. For example, an authentication platform may examine digital images of an anatomical region to establish how a property of the vasculature within the anatomical region changed as a result of deformation. Examples of properties include the position, size, volume, and pressure of vessels included in the vasculature, as well as the velocity and acceleration of blood flowing through the vasculature.

Abstract: A management server obtains rating information indicating a second user's rating of a dish or restaurant, generates a first evaluation value of the first user's sense of taste based on a measurement test regarding the sense of taste, and generates a second evaluation value of the second user's sense of taste based on a measurement test regarding the sense of taste. One search filter for filtering dishes or restaurants based on rating results of the dishes or the restaurants rated by a second user who has a sense-of-taste characteristic similar to that of the first user is provided on a dish search screen. When the first user uses the search filter to filter dishes or restaurants, and when a first difference between the first and second evaluation values is in a first predetermined range, the second user's rating results are used to filter the dishes or the restaurant.

Abstract: User interface (UI) manipulation techniques are disclosed that can allow a user device to hide and obscure sensitive information displayed on a flexible, foldable, or otherwise reconfigurable display from onlookers whilst maintaining or improving its accessibility exclusively to the primary user. Examples of the disclosed techniques can manipulate the UI in a way such that it is largely only viewable as intended when the user device is physically configured to a certain folding angle (and/or viewing angle). In some examples, the UI can be customized such that it promotes a certain device configuration (e.g., folding angle) that can provide an optimum security configuration for the user's current surroundings. The UI displayed on the display screen can change in form factor (e.g., an intended size as viewed by the user) to adapt to the current surroundings and/or based on the sensitivity in the displayed content.

The system includes a processor and a memory including instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations including: receiving a user's request for an experience journey; retrieving a listing of activities within a prescribed vicinity of the user; retrieving a listing of the user's preferences; eliminating activities from the listing of activities that are contrary to the preferences in the listing of user preferences, thereby forming a listing of preferred available activities; devising routes from the user's location to the activities in the listing of preferred available activities; generating experience journeys from the listing of preferred available activities and the devised routes to the activities in the listing of preferred available activities; and transmitting the generated experience journeys to the user.
