  • Publication number: 20240129726
Abstract: A device, method and computer program product enable an automatic locking/unlocking of a user device such as a computer workstation or laptop based on accurate location and authentication of wearable device. A device interface of the device couples to a second device that has a locked state configurable to an unlocked state by the device. The device receives, via an antenna assembly and an UWB transceiver, UWB signals from a third device, the antenna assembly comprising two or more antennas spaced in a support structure as one of a two-dimensional (2D) or a three-dimensional (3D) antenna array. The device determines a location of the third device based on a range and an angle of arrival of the received UWB signals. In response to determining that the location is within an unlock space of the second device, the device communicates an unlock command to the second device.

  • Patent number: 11907495
Abstract: One or more processors of an electronic device detect a communication device electronically in communication with a content presentation companion device operating as a primary display for the electronic device and including a first ultra-wideband component. The one or more processors determine, with a second ultra-wide component carried by the electronic device, a distance between the electronic device and the content presentation companion device using an ultra-wideband ranging process. The one or more processors then dynamically enhance a user interface of the content presentation companion device as a function of the distance between the electronic device and the content presentation companion device. The enhancing adjusts a user interface feature being presented on the content presentation companion device.

  • Publication number: 20230171298
Abstract: In aspects of digital media playback based on UWB radios, a system includes ultra-wideband (UWB) radios associated with respective media devices in an environment. A media playback manager receives location information for each of the media devices in the environment based on a position of the UWB radio associated with a respective media device. The media playback manager determines a location of each of the media devices relative to a position of a person in the environment. The media playback manager can then initiate communication of the digital media to a media device for digital media playback of the digital media, where the digital media is communicated to the media device based on the determined position of the person relative to the location of the media device in the environment.

  • Publication number: 20230078485
Abstract: In aspects of object tracking based on UWB tags, a system includes ultra-wideband (UWB) tags located for association with respective objects in an environment, where each UWB tag is identified with a digital label indicative of the association with one or more of the objects. A tracking service is implemented to receive initial location data for the objects from each of the UWB tags that are associated with the objects, and generate an object identity database in which each of the objects are identified by their respective initial location data. The tracking service can monitor for movement of an object that is identified by the initial location data based on subsequent positioning data associated with the object. The movement of an object is monitored for an unauthorized relocation of the object, for a cluster of multiple objects moving together, and/or for an abnormal proximity of multiple objects in the environment.

  • Patent number: 11051260
Abstract: An electronic device, method, and computer program product provide an asynchronous quick connection or reconnection between wireless connecting devices for low-latency transitions in presentation of content to a user. A first device transmits an out-of-band frame sync signal to a second device to prompt the second device to synchronize clocks with the first device and to one of: (i) connect; and (ii) reconnect an over-the-air (OTA) communication session with the first device. First and second devices establish the OTA communication session. The establishment is expedited by the out-of-band frame sync signal. First device transmits output data, via the in-band OTA session, by the first device to the second device to present the output data on a second user output device of the second device.
