  • Publication number: 20230062528
Abstract: Various embodiments of a system and associated method for detection of COVID-19 and other respiratory diseases through classification of audio samples are disclosed herein. The system utilizes features directly extracted from the coughing audio and develops automated diagnostic tools for COVID-19. In particular, the present application discusses a novel modification of a deep neural network architecture by using log-mel spectrograms of the audio excerpts and by optimizing a combination of binary cross-entropy and focal loss parameters. One embodiment of the system achieved an average validation AUC of 82.23% and a test AUC of 78.3% at a sensitivity of 80.49%.

  • Patent number: 9868141
Abstract: A workpiece-shaping tool assembly has a drive shaft having an outer end centered on and rotatable about an axis and a tool fittable with the end of the drive shaft. A torque coupling is formed by shaft splines formed on the drive shaft and tool splines formed on the tool, complementary to the shaft splines, and interfitting with the shaft splines. A radial-force coupling is formed by an inner cylindrical shaft surface formed on the shaft axially offset from the shaft splines and centered on the axis and a respective inner cylindrical tool surface formed on the tool offset from the tool splines, centered on the axis, and radially juxtaposed and engageable with the inner shaft surface.

  • Patent number: 9412104
Abstract: A transaction product includes a primary member, an auxiliary member, and a machine-readable account identifier. The primary member defines a first panel and a second panel, the first panel defines two or more embossed sections defining interior ledge segments that define a track therebetween, and the first and second panels are coupled to one another such that the track is interposed between the first and second panels. The auxiliary member is interposed between the first and second panels, is partially positioned within the track, and is configured to move within the track in one or more of a first direction and a second direction. Movement of the auxiliary member is limited by interaction between the auxiliary member and the interior ledge segments of the two or more embossed sections. The machine-readable account identifier links the primary member to an account or record and is secured to the primary member.

  • Publication number: 20160185583
Abstract: A cap opener tool penetrates bottle caps and lids using an angled needle to access beverages or other liquid products. Liquid products inside the bottles can be consumed or accessed quickly through a cap hole formed in the cap by the angled needle of the cap opener tool. The tool includes a housing that fits over bottle caps, and the housing includes a base from which the angled needed extends or is attached. The angle of the walls of the angled needle form a corresponding angle in the bottle caps as the bottle cap is penetrated. The resulting cap hole provides access to the liquid products in the bottle. Liquid products can be forced outward through the cap hole by applying pressure to the bottle, such as by squeezing the bottle. By forcing the liquid products through the cap hole, the liquid products can be easily consumed or dispensed.

  • Patent number: 9337076
Abstract: A workpiece adjustment assembly is disclosed. The assembly can include a shaft, a spherical bearing, and a wafer support. A spherical housing receives the spherical bearing and allows the bearing to rotate therein. The housing and bearing may form an air bearing. A seal may be formed in the housing to prevent gas from the air bearing and the ambient atmosphere from migrating to a process chamber side of the housing. A set of spherical air pads may be positioned on an ambient side of the bearing to press the bearing against the housing when the process chamber is not under vacuum conditions. The seal can include a set of differentially pumped grooves. The spherical bearing enables the wafer manipulation end, and a wafer attached thereto, to be moved with four degrees of freedom. The arrangement facilitates isocentric scanning of a workpiece. Methods for using the assembly are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9155421
Abstract: An improved grill assembly is provided that has at least three grilling regions for effecting different types of cooking. The first grilling region includes two vertically standing fuel receptacles spaced apart in a grill housing to form an open area therebetween. An opening in the housing allows a food basket to be inserted into the open area to cook both sides of the food at the same time. The second grilling region includes a grilling surface that is placed over a recessed grilling area on the outer surface of the top wall of the grill housing. The third grilling region is a rotisserie cooking region and includes an open area on a side of the grill housing that has a rotatably secured rod that receives a food product and that is in communication with one of the vertical standing fuel receptacles to cook the food product.

  • Publication number: 20150273122
Abstract: An irrigation and suction tip for laparoscopic surgery having an increased range of transport within a surgical cavity during laparoscopic surgery. The tip moves in a circumferential trajectory rather than linearly when a surgeon is irrigating and suctioning tissue. The tip is substantially resilient, withstanding great force and pressure during irrigation and suction procedures. The tip is bowed, having a pair of straight portions, a short distal portion and a long proximal portion joined by a bowed portion, the bowed portion allowing the distal portion to rotate, circumscribing a large area. The bow is limited so that the tip moves within a narrow wall of a cannula of a trocar.

  • Patent number: 9108322
Abstract: A system and method for monitoring forces on a substrate lifting apparatus. The system includes a platen cartridge with a platen and a movable lifting portion. The movable lifting portion includes a plurality of lifting arms coupled to a plurality of lift pins. A plurality of force sensing elements are associated with respective ones of the plurality of lifting arms and the plurality of lift pins. A controller receives signals from the plurality of force sensing elements, correlates the signals to respective forces applied to said plurality of lift pins. The correlated forces may indicate to the controller that an error condition exists, such as a stuck wafer, a broken wafer, a mis-positioned wafer, or a mechanical malfunction.

  • Publication number: 20140337045
Abstract: A wireless remote notification system for use by a medical practitioner having a wireless capable tablet personal computer, to monitor each one of a group of patients in an infusion treatment center, the tablet personal computer wirelessly connects to and displays each patient's intravenous fluid pump output of treatment session time, intravenous fluid type, intravenous fluid conditions of gas content, fluid pressure, and flow-rate, including an alarm for abnormal intravenous fluid conditions. The tablet personal computer giving the medical practitioner an instant notice of a particular patient's abnormal intravenous fluid condition facilitating the medical practitioner the ability to quickly take corrective action and potentially deactivate the alarm quickly, thus reducing patient aggravation from their intravenous fluid condition alarms and adjacent patient intravenous fluid condition alarms.
