  • Patent number: 8816299
Abstract: A workpiece adjustment assembly is disclosed. The assembly can include a shaft, a spherical bearing, and a wafer support. A spherical housing receives the spherical bearing and allows the bearing to rotate therein. The housing and bearing may form an air bearing. A seal may be formed in the housing to prevent gas from the air bearing and the ambient atmosphere from migrating to a process chamber side of the housing. A set of spherical air pads may be positioned on an ambient side of the bearing to press the bearing against the housing when the process chamber is not under vacuum conditions. The seal can include a set of differentially pumped grooves. The spherical bearing enables the wafer manipulation end, and a wafer attached thereto, to be moved with four degrees of freedom. The arrangement facilitates isocentric scanning of a workpiece. Methods for using the assembly are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20140183082
Abstract: A transaction product includes a primary member, an auxiliary member, and a machine-readable account identifier. The primary member defines a first panel and a second panel, the first panel defines two or more embossed sections defining interior ledge segments that define a track therebetween, and the first and second panels are coupled to one another such that the track is interposed between the first and second panels. The auxiliary member is interposed between the first and second panels, is partially positioned within the track, and is configured to move within the track in one or more of a first direction and a second direction. Movement of the auxiliary member is limited by interaction between the auxiliary member and the interior ledge segments of the two or more embossed sections. The machine-readable account identifier links the primary member to an account or record and is secured to the primary member.

  • Publication number: 20140142497
Abstract: An irrigation and suction tip for laparoscopic surgery having an increased range of transport within a surgical cavity during laparoscopic surgery. The tip moves in a circumferential trajectory rather than linearly when a surgeon is irrigating and suctioning tissue. The tip is substantially resilient, withstanding great force and pressure during irrigation and suction procedures. The tip is bowed, having a pair of straight portions, a short distal portion and a long proximal portion joined by a bowed portion, the bowed portion allowing the distal portion to rotate, circumscribing a large area. The bow is limited so that the tip moves within a narrow wall of a cannula of a trocar.

  • Publication number: 20130343804
Abstract: A workpiece-shaping tool assembly has a drive shaft having an outer end centered on and rotatable about an axis and a tool fittable with the end of the drive shaft. A torque coupling is formed by shaft splines formed on the drive shaft and tool splines formed on the tool, complementary to the shaft splines, and interfitting with the shaft splines. A radial-force coupling is formed by an inner cylindrical shaft surface formed on the shaft axially offset from the shaft splines and centered on the axis and a respective inner cylindrical tool surface formed on the tool offset from the tool splines, centered on the axis, and radially juxtaposed and engageable with the inner shaft surface.
