  • Patent number: 9205914
Abstract: A distributed architecture for multi-nodal control of functions in an aircraft cabin. The distributed architecture includes a processor, a controller operatively connected to the processor, a passenger IO node operatively connected to the controller, and a crew IO node operatively connected to the controller. The passenger IO node and the crew IO node are capable of controlling at least one of light intensity in the aircraft cabin, color of light in the aircraft cabin, temperature in the vehicle cabin, and a degree of openness of one or more window shades in the aircraft cabin. A method and an executable computer program product also are provided.

  • Publication number: 20150316241
Abstract: An adjustable light fixture including a base and a mounting member configured to movably connect a light source to the base. The mounting member is configured to rotate about a rotational axis that moves relative to the base. The adjustably light fixture can be implemented as an overhead light fixture by connecting the base to a ceiling. Also provided is a method adjusting an overhead light fixture including rotating a mounting member and translating the mounting member relative to a base.

  • Publication number: 20120215306
Abstract: A tool for facilitating insertion of a speech valve with a flexible retention flange into a fistula between the trachea and the oesophagus of a human patient. The tool has a wall curved to define a passage having opposed open first and second passage ends and an axis extending therebetween. The wall has an external surface insertable into a fistula between the trachea and oesophagus and defining a slot which extends from the passage to the external surface of the wall. The slot has an opening at the first passage end extending from the first passage end to at least a part of the way to the second passage end and at least a portion of the slot progresses angularly around the axis.

  • Patent number: 5966891
Abstract: When installing vinyl siding on homes or other type buildings, a drawback to the trim pieces around windows, doors, etc., is the method of connecting two (2) retainer strips (J-Channels) together. The original method is to miter the horizontally and vertically placed retainer strips together. This method has proven to be too time consuming and is not neat in appearance. Since then, another way was invented. The new method being a corner piece that must be affixed to the structure having the siding installed. This, too, proved to be time consuming. Our invention is a corner siding piece having an L-shaped base plate with a first leg integral with a second leg, both of which have a first flange and a second flange extending inwardly at the bottom and a curved channel along the top of said first leg and second leg.
