  • Patent number: 4982174
Abstract: An electromagnetic circuit breaker has a housing that includes a separately defined arc chamber in which the moving contact travels as the breaker is tripped, and the chamber has a divergent shape to facilitate exhausting the hot gases from the arc chamber through a metal screen and through vent openings in the end wall of the breaker housing. The housing is made in two half sections that are held together by rivets and the location of one of these rivets is isolated from the fixed contact at the lower end of the arc chamber by the unique arc chamber configuration. The lower wall of the circuit breaker housing is adapted to receive either a molded switch subassembly or to receive a terminal strip that is held in place by the primary terminals of the breaker and is adapted also to support auxiliary terminals that operate a shunt coil. The shunt coil itself is fitted on a bobbin that is selectively mounted on the bobbin that contains the primary electromagnetic coil fo the breaker.

  • Patent number: 4934948
Abstract: A circuit breaker terminal strip has an offset spade terminal end segment and a conventional lug terminal segment formed integrally so that one or the other or both types of wire connectors can be used with a single terminal. The lug receiving segment has a threaded opening to receive a screw that holds the lug and its wire in alignment with the terminal. The spade segment is integrally connected to the lug receiving segment and configured to receive a quick connector so that the wire on the latter does not interfere with the wire with the lug.

  • Patent number: 4753606
Abstract: A telephone connector block having improved means for temporarily retaining the ends of individual subscriber pairs adjacent the open ends of quick-clip connectors prior to engagement therewith using an installation tool. This is accomplished by a strain relief means which engages an individual conductor as the same is bent to substantially a right angle relative to the axis of the opening in the adjacent quick clip terminal whereby upon bending the end of the conductor and the engagement of a short projection on the strain relief means, the conductor remains in desired position prior to full engagement with the quick-clip terminal.

  • Patent number: 4722702
Abstract: A high density front administered telephone protector block having three terminal connection surfaces disposed on three sides of the block. The block is mounted on an inner end by a rearwardly extending bracket. A first side surface mounts protector modules, an oppositely disposed second side surface mounts outside plant wire wrap pins for connecting subscriber pairs. A third outer end surface extends transversely past the side surface and mounts quick clip terminals for cross connections.

  • Patent number: 4582379
Abstract: A test shoe adapted to engage a discrete area on a telephone connector block, normally mounted upon a telephone main frame for the purpose of interfacing with a plurality of individual subscriber circuits appearing on the block, either directly, or through protector modules. The establishment of communication with each subscriber circuit involves the engagement of a large number of contact prongs with corresponding circuits, creating substantial frictional contact tending to retain the shoe in position. Means is provided for facilitating the disengagement of the shoe after completion of testing procedures, whereby the friction is conveniently overcome, and the shoe disengaged in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the connector block.

  • Patent number: 4567639
Abstract: An improved combination wire installation and cutting tool for installing the ends of telephone circuit conductors into known quick clip connectors, following which the stubs on the free ends of the conductors are cut to predetermined lengths, so as not to interfere with adjacent conductors. As contrasted with prior art devices of this type, the tool does not require the free ends of the conductors to be inserted into holes in the tool, and the tool has a cutting element which can sever the stubs on the conductors before the conductors are fully seated in the quick clip connectors.
