  • Patent number: 11392912
Abstract: An image of a check may be presented for payment in a banking system in place of the physical paper check. The check to be deposited can be collected from a depositor using a scanner. A web site, accessed through a depositor's web browser, can be used to drive the process of collecting the check, but in some contexts (e.g., in less popular computing environments, such as those that do not run the most popular operating systems), it is economically infeasible to obtain the certificates that would be used to allow a program executing in the web browser to control the scanner. Thus, a depositor can be instructed to capture and upload images of the check in the form of files, where the image files are then presented for payment through a banking system.

  • Publication number: 20220221859
Abstract: Described herein is a server computing system that controls an autonomous vehicle to perform an operation to at least one of measure or isolate an effect of a variable on an actual power consumption by the autonomous vehicle. Data indicative of the actual power consumption, which is generated based on the operation, and data indicative of a projected power consumption, which is accumulated based on prior execution of the operation by a same or different autonomous vehicle, is received by the server computing system to determine whether an energy efficiency of the autonomous vehicle is degraded. The operation may be performed to identify a degraded vehicle system or component of the autonomous vehicle or to identify an autonomous vehicle in a fleet of autonomous vehicles for which further analysis is desirable. An output is generated by the server computing system that is indicative of the energy efficiency prognostics.

  • Publication number: 20220166169
Abstract: An electrical connector of an electrical connector assembly. The electrical connector includes a housing with a mating face for mating with a mating electrical connector. Contact receiving cavities extend into the housing from the mating face. Contacts are provided in the contact receiving cavities. Mating portions of the contacts extend from the mating face in a direction away from the housing. Protrusions extend from the mating face in a direction away from the housing. The protrusions extend proximate edges of the mating portions of the contacts. The protrusions form reverse chamfers which cooperate with lead-in chamfers provided in a surface of the mating electrical connector. The positioning of the protrusions in the lead-in chamfers fills in air gaps provided by the lead-in chamfers to provide an impedance match along the mating portions of the contacts when the electrical connector is mated with the mating electrical connector.

  • Patent number: 11321189
Abstract: A media agent is configured to perform substantially autonomously to initiate, continue, and manage information management operations such as a backup job of a certain client's primary data, manage the operations, and generate and store resultant system-level metadata from the operations, etc. The media agent is configured to do this even when out of communication with the storage manager that manages the information management system. When communications are restored, the media agent reports the relevant metadata to the storage manager. The storage manager comprises corresponding enhancements, including specialized logic for identifying the media agent as an intelligent media agent capable of some autonomous functionality, for transmitting management parameters thereto, and for seamlessly integrating the received metadata into the storage manager's associated management infrastructure such as a management database.

  • Patent number: 11316920
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for cross-system storage management for transferring data across autonomous information management systems. Data may be transferred from one information management system to another information management system without interfering with or overriding each system's autonomy. For example, a secondary copy of production data (e.g., backed up data) is transferred from a first information management system that originated the data to a component of another “foreign” information management system. A first storage manager that manages the first information management system also manages the cross-system data transfer operation to a “foreign” client computing device, which remains under autonomous management as a component of the foreign information management system.

  • Publication number: 20220121368
Abstract: Systems and methods for migrating stored backup data between disks (e.g., from an existing disk to another disk), such as a new or different disk in a magnetic storage library, without interrupting or otherwise affecting secondary copy operations (e.g., operations currently writing data to the storage library) utilizing the magnetic storage library, are described. In some embodiments, the systems and methods mark one or more mount paths as full when a running secondary copy operation associated with the mount path has completed a job (regardless of the actual current capacity or intended use of the mount path), and migrate each of the one or more data to a second disk of the data storage library when the mount path associated with the data is marked as full.

  • Patent number: 11284993
Abstract: A display device (e.g., in a contact lens) is mounted on the eye. The eye mounted display contains multiple sub-displays, each of which projects light to different retinal positions within a portion of the retina corresponding to the sub-display. Additionally, a “locally uniform resolution” mapping may be used to model the variable resolution of the eye. Accordingly, various aspects of the display device may be based on the locally uniform resolution mapping. For example, the light emitted from the sub-displays may be based on the locally uniform resolution mapping.
