  • Publication number: 20120172219
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods of increasing, enhancing, or accelerating root nodulation in a plant, accelerating growth of nitrogen fixing bacteria in nodules of a plant, increasing protein content in a plant, increasing yield of a plant, improving water retention of a plant, or reducing water use of a plant, the method comprising identifying a plant in need of root nodulation, and applying to the plant a composition comprising a protein component comprising yeast stress proteins resulting from subjecting a mixture obtained from the yeast fermentation to stress.

  • Publication number: 20120142530
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods of accelerating root growth in a plant, the method comprising applying to the plant root a composition comprising a) a mixture of proteins and polypeptides, and b) a surfactant, whereby root growth is accelerated as compared to an untreated plant. Also disclosed herein are methods of improving the foliar uptake of a biologically active compound by a plant, the method comprising applying to the plant foliage a composition comprising a) a mixture of proteins and polypeptides, and b) a surfactant, whereby root growth is accelerated as compared to an untreated plant.

  • Publication number: 20120135909
Abstract: Disclosed herein are compositions comprising a solubilizing agent for the removal of burnt-on, cooked-on, baked-on, dried-on and charred organic food and oil residues from surfaces comprising alcohol, a coupling agent, water, an anti-deposition agent, a pH buffer and a surfactant system that preferably includes a fermentation supernatant, where the supernatant contains essentially stress proteins. Further enclosed are methods of cleaning for ovens, industrial cooking equipment and the like.

  • Publication number: 20120074067
Abstract: Disclosed are methods of removing oil from an aqueous surface, comprising: surrounding an oil spot on the aqueous surface with an oil-absorbing material; and introducing a solution comprising a surfactant to the oil spot. Also disclosed are the above methods where the oil is not mechanically directed towards the oil-absorbing material, or where the oil-absorbing material is not mechanically directed towards the oil. Also disclosed are the above methods further comprising introducing a solution comprising a protein/surfactant complex to the oil spot, where the protein/surfactant complex comprises a protein component obtained from the fermentation of yeast, comprising a mixture of multiple intracellular proteins, at least a portion of the mixture including yeast polypeptides obtained from fermenting yeast and yeast stress proteins resulting from subjecting a mixture obtained from the yeast fermentation to stress.

  • Publication number: 20070178124
Abstract: Biologically active solid systems are disclosed, containing immobilized organic compounds, such as medicines, in the form of materials appropriate as bone fillers, implant coatings or other alike systems, of the common formula B—P-A, where B is an inorganic support consisting of calcium phosphate, calcium hydroxyphosphate (hydroxyapatite), their mixture, or some other biocompatible mixture containing these or other insoluble inorganic phosphates, —P— is a phosphoryl group —P—O—, and A is the residue of the immobilized, organic, biologically active compound, such as a medicine, containing unprotonated amine and/or hydroxide group(s), and a method of their preparation consisting of the treatment of inorganic phosphate with a grafting reagent and consequent reaction with organic compound. As a grafting reagent, phosphorus pentachloride is applied and all operations are completed in an aprotic solvent.
