  • Publication number: 20190007414
Abstract: It can be difficult to manage assets, particularly when determining ownership of assets. Systems and methods for facilitating identification of ownership of an asset include identifying an asset (e.g., an item capable of being owned), identifying one or more actors (e.g., an entity capable of owning an asset), and identifying interactions between the asset and each actor. The systems and methods additionally apply a decay factor to the identified interactions to cause a reduction in the significance of the identified interactions between the asset and each actor and produce an asset ownership score for each actor based on the decay-modified interactions. The resulting asset ownership score for each actor is provided to an entity in a fashion that allows the entity to identify a comparative likelihood that each actor is a potential owner of the asset.

  • Patent number: 10169659
Abstract: Devices, systems and methods are disclosed for improving a playback of video data and generation of a video summary. For example, annotation data may be generated for individual video frames included in the video data to indicate content present in the individual video frames, such as faces, objects, pets, speech or the like. A video summary may be determined by calculating a priority metric for individual video frames based on the annotation data. In response to input indicating a face and a period of time, a video summary can be generated including video segments focused on the face within the period of time. The video summary may be directed to multiple faces and/or objects based on the annotation data.

  • Patent number: 10142386
Abstract: Techniques for serving a manifest file of an adaptive streaming video include receiving a request for the manifest file from a user device. The video is encoded at different reference bitrates and each encoded reference bitrate is divided into segments to generate video segment files. The manifest file includes an ordered list of universal resource locators (URLs) that reference a set of video segment files encoded at a particular reference bitrate. A source manifest file that indicates the set of video segment files is identified based on the request. An issued manifest file that includes a first URL and a second URL is generated based on the source manifest file. The first URL references a first domain and the second URL references a second domain that is different from the first domain. The issued manifest file is transmitted to the user device as a response to the request.

  • Patent number: 10021583
Abstract: Systems and methods for beam splitting using multiple antennas are disclosed. An example wireless networking device includes an antenna system having a plurality of antennas; and a controller configured to determine directional antenna weight vectors (AWVs) directed substantially towards other wireless networking devices, determine a split beam AWV from the directional AWVs, and configure the antenna sub-system to form multiple wireless communication channels over the determined split beam AWV between the wireless networking devices. A split beam formed by the wireless networking device according to the split beam AWV maximizes a minimum gain towards, or provides at least a preset threshold minimum gain towards, each of the at other wireless networking devices.

  • Publication number: 20180135795
Abstract: The present invention relates to a portable storage and locking apparatus that permits towing hitches and hitch-mountable accessories to be stored and locked to trailers, vehicles, buildings and other locations having exposed frames, beams, channels or other structures and storage locations. The apparatus does not require tools or hardware to mount and uses a pair of spaced-apart side plates joined to form a u-shaped mount that slides over a frame. The side plates have at least one pair of square-shaped aligned holes near the open ends, which extend past the frame and are configured to insert a towing hitch or accessory. With the apparatus over a frame, and a towing hitch or accessory inserted in the square holes, the apparatus is effectively secured to the frame and cannot be removed. A trailer hitch locking pin may be used to lock the hitch or accessory to the apparatus, and therefore to the frame.

  • Patent number: 9946460
Abstract: A method for generating a virtual volume (VV) in a storage system architecture. The architecture comprises a host and one or more disk array subsystems. Each subsystem comprises a storage controller. One or more of the subsystems comprises a physical storage device (PSD) array. The method comprises the following steps: mapping the PSD array into a plurality of media extents (MEs), each of the MEs comprises a plurality of sections; providing a virtual pool (VP) to implement a section cross-referencing function, wherein a section index (SI) of each of the sections contained in the VP is defined by the VP to cross-reference VP sections to physical ME locations; providing a conversion method or procedure or function for mapping VP capacity into to a VV; and presenting the VV to the host. A storage subsystem and a storage system architecture performing the method are also provided.

  • Patent number: 9940804
Abstract: The invention integrates hardware and software for sensing, communications, data storage and control into a protection module that is sufficiently small and inexpensive to be attached directly to individual objects, such as musical instruments, and the inventory of stores and museums. Sensors monitor environmental factors, such as temperature and humidity, and accelerometers alert owners to unwanted motion, such as theft or misuse. Sensed data is stored locally and transmitted wirelessly to nonproprietary data receivers, such as smart phones or tablets that generate alerts. In some embodiments the data is forwarded to cloud servers for storage and analysis. Bluetooth communication between the attached module and the data receiver allows large spaces, such as stores and showrooms containing many attached modules to be protected. In some embodiments accelerometers enable finger-tap-controlled recording of musical performance and tuning of the instrument relative to tonal frequencies stored in the module.

  • Patent number: 9942286
Abstract: One or more embodiments of the invention provide a collaboration platform that permits multiple users to collaborate on multiple copies of a model simultaneously. The collaboration application provides a full set of two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) tools for a client to manipulate a model and transmit the results of such manipulations to a server. Both the clients and the server maintain a history of the manipulations results. Once object changes are received by the server from one or more clients, the server distributes the object changes to the remaining clients. Thereafter, the clients modify their local version of the model in accordance with the object changes received from the server. The history maintained by the clients or the server may then be used to undo or redo any of the object changes, or to rebuild a model space in the event of a network failure.
