  • Publication number: 20190173930
Abstract: Techniques for serving a manifest file of an adaptive streaming video include receiving a request for the manifest file from a user device. The video is encoded at different reference bitrates and each encoded reference bitrate is divided into segments to generate video segment files. The manifest file includes an ordered list of universal resource locators (URLs) that reference a set of video segment files encoded at a particular reference bitrate. A source manifest file that indicates the set of video segment files is identified based on the request. An issued manifest file that includes a first URL and a second URL is generated based on the source manifest file. The first URL references a first domain and the second URL references a second domain that is different from the first domain. The issued manifest file is transmitted to the user device as a response to the request.

  • Patent number: 10301377
Abstract: Methods of inducing an immune response in a subject to the Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) are provided. In several embodiments, the immune response is a protective immune response that inhibits or prevents MERS-CoV infection in the subject. Recombinant MERS-CoV polypeptides and nucleic acid molecules encoding same are also provided. Additionally, neutralizing antibodies that specifically bind to MERS-CoV S protein and antigen binding fragments thereof are disclosed. The antibodies and antigen binding fragments are useful, for example, in methods of detecting MERS-CoV S protein in a sample or in a subject, as well as methods of preventing and treating a MERS-CoV infection in a subject.

  • Publication number: 20190069243
Abstract: Sensor data characterizing an event associated with a movable object is received. Based on the sensor data, an objective from a plurality of predefined objectives for monitoring the movable object is selected. A series of operational states having increasing power requirement levels is transitioned through. At each operational state, whether the selected objective is achievable using a respective method associated with the respective operational state and respective power requirement level is determined. • Patent number: 10216694
Abstract: A system and method for customized scheduling of sources, including breaking down a source of content into at least two categories, including posts and engagements, and gathering content related to a specific source. A scheduler handles scheduling of posts and engagement for a single source and entities that are due to be crawled are sent to a scheduling queue, in which each content type for a source can have its own queue. A process points to the correct scheduler queue in order to request content to be crawled, attaches to the proper queue, processes requests, queries the social network for content, parses the response and sends any new data to be saved to the system.

  • Patent number: 10210342
Abstract: A method and system are provided that may centralize the management of applications that access the data of social networks via API calls. A central service may generate tokens at a generation rate that permit an application to access an API. The tokens may be distributed to queues associated with certain content types. The relative distribution of tokens to each queue may be determined by rules. A queue may release tokens to applications that function to access the content type associated with the queue. The token generation rate and rules may be selected to prevent violation of the rate limits for the API.

  • Publication number: 20190050588
Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes detecting initiation of submission of content on a forum. Using a computer processor, an expertise associated with the content is determined. Using the computer processor, challenge data is determined based at least in part on the expertise. Using the computer processor, expected response data corresponding to the challenge data is determined. The challenge data is presented. An entered response is received in reply to the challenge data. The content is allowed to be posted on the forum based at least in part on comparing the entered response data to the expected response data.

  • Patent number: 10191669
Abstract: A redundant external storage virtualization computer system. The redundant storage virtualization computer system includes a host entity for issuing an IO request, a redundant external SAS storage virtualization controller pair coupled to the host entity for performing an IO operation in response to the IO request issued by the host entity, and a plurality of physical storage devices for providing storage to the computer system. Each of the physical storage devices is coupled to the redundant storage virtualization controller pair through a SAS interconnect. The redundant storage virtualization controller pair includes a first and a second SAS storage virtualization controller both coupled to the host entity. In the redundant SAS storage virtualization controller pair, when the second storage virtualization controller is not on line, the first storage virtualization controller will take over the functionality originally performed by the second storage virtualization controller.

  • Patent number: 10183538
Abstract: The present invention relates to a portable storage and locking apparatus that permits towing hitches and hitch-mountable accessories to be stored and locked to trailers, vehicles, buildings and other locations having exposed frames, beams, channels or other structures and storage locations. The apparatus does not require tools or hardware to mount and uses a pair of spaced-apart side plates joined to form a u-shaped mount that slides over a frame. The side plates have at least one pair of square-shaped aligned holes near the open ends, which extend past the frame and are configured to insert a towing hitch or accessory. With the apparatus over a frame, and a towing hitch or accessory inserted in the square holes, the apparatus is effectively secured to the frame and cannot be removed. A trailer hitch locking pin may be used to lock the hitch or accessory to the apparatus, and therefore to the frame.

  • Publication number: 20190012888
Abstract: A compartment may include a panel movable between a first position in which the compartment is concealed within a structure and a second position in which the compartment is exposed to an external environment. One or more sensors may be concealed within the structure, where they are actuatable to send signals upon detection of operator inputs. A controller may be programmable to set a predefined or machine-learned, time dependent or non-time dependent sequence of actuation for the one or more sensors, where the controller is configured to receive the signals and to determine whether the predefined or machine-learned sequence of actuation has been achieved by the operator inputs. The controller may be further configured to send a signal to a mechanical element to move the panel ACTUATOR from the first position to the second position when it is determined that predefined or machine-learned sequence of actuation has been achieved.

  • Publication number: 20190007414
Abstract: It can be difficult to manage assets, particularly when determining ownership of assets. Systems and methods for facilitating identification of ownership of an asset include identifying an asset (e.g., an item capable of being owned), identifying one or more actors (e.g., an entity capable of owning an asset), and identifying interactions between the asset and each actor. The systems and methods additionally apply a decay factor to the identified interactions to cause a reduction in the significance of the identified interactions between the asset and each actor and produce an asset ownership score for each actor based on the decay-modified interactions. The resulting asset ownership score for each actor is provided to an entity in a fashion that allows the entity to identify a comparative likelihood that each actor is a potential owner of the asset.

  • Patent number: 10169659
Abstract: Devices, systems and methods are disclosed for improving a playback of video data and generation of a video summary. For example, annotation data may be generated for individual video frames included in the video data to indicate content present in the individual video frames, such as faces, objects, pets, speech or the like. A video summary may be determined by calculating a priority metric for individual video frames based on the annotation data. In response to input indicating a face and a period of time, a video summary can be generated including video segments focused on the face within the period of time. The video summary may be directed to multiple faces and/or objects based on the annotation data.
