  • Publication number: 20160249357
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication at an AP. A station (STA) serving as a soft access point (SAP) in master mode may be configured to support communication over two radar channels (e.g., a primary and secondary channel) simultaneously. The STA may detect radar on the primary channel and move the primary channel to the secondary channel; meanwhile, the secondary channel may be moved to a channel in a non-radar subband. In some cases, the STA may establish a primary channel in a non-radar subband and then advertise a single bandwidth capacity. the STA may then perform a channel availability check (CAC) on a radar subband. If the CAC is successful, the STA may establish a secondary channel on the radar subband (or move the primary channel to the radar subband) and advertise a dual bandwidth capacity.

  • Patent number: 9412270
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include a wireless vehicle detection systems and associated methods with extended range and battery life. The wireless vehicle detection system can include a plurality of sensor pods in communication with an access point without repeaters. Embodiments of the sensor pod can include a vehicle detector controller adapted to determine the presence of vehicles and a communication controller connected to the vehicle detector and adapted to transmit data 300 feet or more to an access point, which in turns communicates with the base station. To extend the battery life of the sensor pod, the sensor pod can be adapted to detect received communication signal strength and adjust transmitting power based upon the strength to thereby conserve power. Embodiments of the sensor pod can also include a battery connected in parallel to an HLC capacitor to further extend the life of the battery.

  • Publication number: 20160136626
Abstract: A catalyst article comprises an SCR catalyst and a NOx adsorber catalyst, where each of these catalysts comprise a metal molecular sieve, each with a different metal. The catalyst article can be close coupled with other components to give a NOX performance advantage from cold start to a combined DOC and SCRF system. Higher NOX conversion is also shown in under-floor location due to NOx storage before SCR light off and selective NH3 slip control, allowing higher NH3 fill levels. Systems comprising the catalyst article and methods of using the catalyst article to give improved hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide control, as well as ammonia slip control, are described. The systems can include flow-through or wall-flow monoliths.

  • Publication number: 20160105284
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for detection of unauthorized entities in communication systems. The method includes obtaining a secret string by a first network element and generating a random number by the first network element. The method also includes computing a first cryptographic result by the first network element. The first cryptographic result is based on a cryptographic function, the secret string, and the random number. The method further includes attempting to transmit, by the first network element, a first packet that includes the random number to a second network element using a layer 2 packet terminating protocol. The method includes receiving, within a configured time, a second packet including a second cryptographic result at the first network element, and terminating transmission to the second network element when a second cryptographic result is different from the first cryptographic result.
