  • Patent number: 7462340
Abstract: The disclosure involves a method for reducing the content of NOx and N2O in gases. The method includes the conduction of a gas containing N2O and NOX over a series of two catalyst beds containing of one or more zeolites charged with iron followed by the: addition of a reduction agent for NOX between the catalyst beds. The first catalyst bed reaction zone is used to degrade the N2O and the catalyst bed second reaction zone reduces the NOX and breaks down at least part of the remaining N2O. The inventive device comprises at least one radially traversed catalyst bed.

  • Publication number: 20080241034
Abstract: The method comprises passing an N2O- and NOx-containing gas over a sequence of two catalyst beds, adding reducing agents for NOx and for N2O between the catalyst beds in such an amount that not only NOx but also a predetermined proportion of N2O is reduced. The reaction conditions are set so that the N2O content of the gas is reduced by not more than 95%, based on the N2O content at the entrance of the first catalyst bed, by decomposition to nitrogen and oxygen in the first catalyst bed and that not only chemical reduction of NOx but also chemical reduction of N2O occurs in the second catalyst bed so that the N2O content of the gas is reduced by at least 50%, based on the N2O content at the entrance of the second catalyst bed.

  • Publication number: 20080181215
Abstract: A method for remotely identifying an operating system comprises sending a first User Datagram Protocol (UDP) packet to a port that is not in use on a target and monitoring a response evoked by the first sent UDP packet. At least one Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) packet is sent to the target and the response evoked by the sent ICMP packet(s) monitored. A second UDP packet is sent to the port with an Internet Protocol (IP) timestamp option set in an IP header and a response evoked by the second sent UDP packet is monitored. • Publication number: 20060051277
Abstract: The method comprises the following steps: conduction of the gas containing N2O and NOx over a series of two catalyst beds consisting of one or more zeolites° charged with iron: addition of a reduction agent for NOx between the catalyst beds; setting of a temperature of less than 500° C. in the first and second catalyst bed; setting of a gas pressure of at least 2 bar in the two catalyst beds; and the selection of a space velocity in the first and second catalyst bed that achieves a degradation of the N2O content of the gas in the first catalyst bed by a maximum of up to 90%, in relation to the N2O content at the entrance to the catalyst bed and an additional degradation of the N2O content of the gas in the second catalyst bed by at least 30% in relation to the N2O content at the entrance to the second catalyst bed. The first reaction zone is used to degrade the N2O and the second reaction zone reduces the NOx and breaks down at least part of the remaining N2O.

  • Patent number: 6105343
Abstract: A capping machine (10) and method for installing a cap (12) having a threaded portion onto a container (14) having a threaded portion, the threaded portion of the cap corresponding to the threaded portion of the container, the capping machine having a rotatable turret (20) and a rotatable cap chuck (16) which grips the cap and positions the cap on the container. The cap chuck is rotated by a spindle (22) driven by a servo motor (24) at adjustable and reversible rotational velocities independent of the rotational velocity of the turret. The number of rotations of the cap is determined by monitoring the number of rotations of the servo motor compared to the number of rotations of the turret and is transmitted to a spindle drive control(70). The torque imparted to the cap is monitored by a torque monitor (50) and is transmitted to the spindle drive control. The rotational velocity of the cap is adjustable in response to the compared monitored number of rotations and monitored torque.

  • Patent number: 5959848
Abstract: A power connector for coupling a power supply to an integrated circuit (IC) whose current requirements may vary abruptly over time to a power supply is disclosed. The male connector comprises parallel conductive plates separated by a thin sheet of insulation. A mounting structure positions the power supply a predefined distance above the surface of a PC board upon which is disposed the IC. The male connector is electrically coupled to the IC and mates with a female connector attached to the power supply. The parallel plate male connector improves the ability of the power supply to accomodate abrupt changes in the current requirements of the IC by several different mechanisms. First, voltage oscillations associated with abrupt changes in the current requirements of the IC are reduced by selecting the inductance of the male connector to be low, which corresponds to a comparatively wide width of the conductive plates and a comparatively thin insulation thickness separating the plates.

  • Patent number: 5683335
Abstract: A wearable exercise weight is disclosed. Several versions of the invention are disclosed, each providing a limb encircling weight having an adjustable restraint which holds the weight in a circular configuration about the distal end of a limb. An anchoring structure, in the form of a sock, shoe or glove, is also provided, and functions to keep the weight in place at the end of the limb. Several structures are disclosed which function as means of attachment, connecting the anchoring structure to the limb encircling weight. One version of the invention provides an ankle encircling weight unit with a strip of each sex of VELCRO lengthwise along its lower portion and tabs with shoe lace holes at each end of the unit. A strip of VELCRO provides similar strips of each sex of VELCRO and is adhered to the collar of the shoe. The strip folds from a first position whereby the strips are engaged by each other, to a second position where the strips engage the strips on the ankle encircling weight unit.

  • Patent number: 5076291
Abstract: The method and apparatus of this invention relates to the detipping of cigarettes at high speed without degradation of the tobacco in the tobacco rod and regardless of the intial orientation of the filter tip and the tobacco rod in the apparatus. Cigarettes are fed onto a conveyor belt so that they are traveling in a direction perpendicular to their longitudinal axis. A rolling belt disposed above the conveyor belt straightens bent cigarettes and rolls uneven cigarettes. The cigarettes are then fed onto a fluted rotating drum and aligned on the drum by means of an optical sensor and an air jet so that the filter tip portion of each cigarette is adjacent either side of the drum. Rotating knives are properly oriented so they engage the cigarettes only at the point where the filter tip is connected to the tobacco rod and cut off the filters of the cigarettes.

  • Patent number: 4220916
Abstract: A method of and an apparatus for determining the dielectric breakdown chateristics and size of membrane-sheathed particles such as living-organism cells and the apparent size of such particles after breakdown of the membrane, makes use of two measuring orifices traversed by an electrolyte across which an increasing electric field is applied during the measuring process in which the particles successively traverse one of the orifices. The current through the measuring orifice deviates from the linear with increasing field generated preferably by a sawtooth voltage, the current change being used to measure the particle variables stated.
