  • Patent number: 9190109
Abstract: There is provided a system and method for creating video poetry using text based related media. There is provided a method for creating a video poetry media, the method comprising receiving an ordered list of text phrases selected from a defined plurality of text phrases, presenting a plurality of video clips, wherein each of the plurality of video clips is associated with one or more of the ordered list of text phrases, receiving an ordered list of video clips selected from the plurality of video clips, and generating the video poetry media using the ordered list of video clips. In this manner, the barrier of entry for creating video poetry media is reduced, encouraging increased user participation and the creation of the “viral” effect by sharing video poetry online. Positive publicity for associated brands and media properties and additional channels for commercial promotions are thereby provided.

  • Publication number: 20050144916
Abstract: A generally cylindrical filter element incorporating nonsymmetrical or asymmetrical V-pleated media. The V-pleated media provides increased filter media per given filter volume, extended filter life, and a smaller filter for equivalent filter life. A smaller filter is generally beneficial for some applications such as aircraft, due to its lower weight. Various features of the filter include asymmetric variable pleat heights applied to a cylindrical or obround filter; defined pleat spacing applied to a variable pleat height element; optimal pleat density; and optimal shape of inlet and outlet.

  • Publication number: 20050113962
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for centralizing knowledge and improving programming for manufacturing a part. An embodiment includes a method for manufacturing the part. First, a model of the part is received. Next, a predetermined rule is retrieved from a computer readable medium having a plurality of predetermined rules. A feature of the geometric model is selected by evaluating the retrieved predetermined rule and a process is determined that is associated with the feature. Based on the process, computer code is generated to manufacture the part on a computer controlled machine.

  • Publication number: 20050070822
Abstract: A conscious sedation system and a response testing apparatus for a conscious sedation system. A controller generates a request for a predetermined hand motion response from a patient and analyses at least a hand motion response made by the patient to the request to determine a level of sedation of the patient. The response testing apparatus includes a request assembly and a response assembly. The request assembly communicates to the patient the request generated by the controller. The response assembly senses the hand motion response and communicates the hand motion response to the controller.

  • Publication number: 20040103897
Abstract: A drug delivery system is provided for use in a sedation and analgesia system. The drug delivery system can include a first bolus interface, a second bolus interface wherein the second bolus interface appears after the first bolus interface, a third bolus interface wherein the third bolus interface can appear after the second bolus interface, and a drug delivery display. The first bolus interface asks a user if he or she wants to give the patient a bolus from the drug delivery. If the user answers yes, then the second bolus interface asks the user to confirm the bolus. The third bolus interface can appear if the bolus is outside a predetermined range flagging the user that the bolus is outside a specific range asking for confirmation to continue.

  • Patent number: 6662191
Abstract: A method and system is provided for distributing and reusing object identifiers in a distributed database system. A first table of object identifiers created by the database is maintained for supplying unallocated object identifiers for each type. A second table of object identifiers is also maintained containing reusable and distributable object identifiers to one or more application server in the database system. The application server obtains a predetermined number of object identifiers from the first and second tables to be stored in each of the application servers for servicing client applications related to the application server.

  • Patent number: 6523820
Abstract: A non-planar single sheet separator wall preferably inclined at about 25° from the vertical away from a paper stack first engages the side corners of the leading edge of a sheet of paper or other media picked from the top of the generally horizontal or downwardly inclined stack by a roller or pusher and causes the corners of the sheet to first curl upwardly along the wall before the central portion of the leading edge of the sheet engages the central portion of the separator wall. The separator wall configuration substantially eliminates downward curling of one or both leading corners of a sheet which is purposely upwardly bowed by an elastomeric pad near the center of the separator wall to reduce multi-sheet picks and separator jams.

  • Patent number: 6382620
Abstract: A single sheet feeder for moving individual sheets from the top of a stack includes a driven sheet separator roller mounted on an arcuately moveable support arm, the roller having an annular sheet engaging friction surface and a bottom sheet retard pad in opposed relationship to the separator roller. In a first embodiment the retard pad has a specially configured sheet engaging surface having a sheet retarding portion which is angled downwardly from the direction of sheet movement to reduce excessively high separator roller drive torque requirements. In a second embodiment, the sheet support surface has a recess proximate the sheet retard pad for receiving the driven separator roller to prevent contact of the driven roller with the sheet support to avoid excessively high separator roller drive torque. Arcuate movement of the roller toward the sheet support is arrested by contact of the roller support arm with any suitable part of the sheet feeder chassis such as the retard pad or stack.

  • Patent number: 6170348
Abstract: A transmission for transmitting power from a printing device drive to drive a media pick roller to pick individual sheets of print media from a supply tray through the printing device without the necessity of requiring a separate pick roller motor and controls. The transmission uses a sun gear and a planet gear with a cam track and follower to move the planet gear into and out of driving relationship with the pick roller.

  • Patent number: 5620269
Abstract: The invention relates to a high capacity paper tray cabinet and transport apparatus for transporting sheets of paper or other print media from the high volume tray to a printer which sits on top of the cabinet. A pivotally mounted convex paper guide and a pivotally mounted concave paper guide housing at the rear of the cabinet define a paper path therebetween which extends generally vertically and then curves to a generally horizontal direction for feeding paper to the single sheet paper path in the printer through an access aperture in the rear wall of the printer. Paper drive rollers and an electrical resistance paper pre-heater are mounted in the apparatus proximate the discharge end of the paper path such that pre-heated paper can be immediately fed at the appropriate location of the paper path in the printer, preferably an inkjet printer.
