  • Publication number: 20080009243
Abstract: The present application relates to a wireless communication system and related methods and apparatuses for transmitting a signal from a source apparatus to a destination apparatus, via at least one intermediate apparatus. In particular, the present invention relates to techniques which seek to improve the throughput of data in multi-hop communication systems.

  • Patent number: 7289021
Abstract: Apparatus and method in the use thereof attaches an annular transponder unit to an annular tire surface, the transponder unit being of a type having a sensor housing coupled to an annular antenna. The apparatus includes a rotary turntable for supportably rotating a tire having an annular tire surface in an accessible disposition and an arm proximately disposed to the turntable and having end-of-arm tooling for attaching the transponder unit section by section to the annular tire surface as the tire is rotated. The tooling includes a gripping mechanism engaging the sensor housing and placing the sensor housing at a preselected location on the annular tire surface and a guide mechanism engaging the annular antenna and positioning the annular antenna section by section along the annular tire surface as the tire is rotated.

  • Publication number: 20070166143
Abstract: A quick coupler lock, for use as a safety to engage an attachment, such as a bucket or scoop, to a heavy equipment armature, as found in backhoes and excavators. The coupler lock prevents the unwanted release of auxiliary attachments. The coupler lock includes a coupler frame with a pin grabber, and a coupler hook rotated to engage a pin. The rotation of the coupler hook is accomplished by the extension or retraction of a coupler actuator, preferably a hydraulic cylinder held within a spring. The coupler actuator hingably connects to a pivoting lock lever. The action of the coupler actuator rotates the lock lever about the lever pin. A lock bar hingably attaches to the coupler hook and rotates with the coupler hook. The lock lever includes an arm that contacts the lock bar, to prevent movement of the coupler hook and prevent the unwanted release of the pin.

  • Publication number: 20070147308
Abstract: This application relates to techniques for reducing the signalling overhead associated with multi-hop communication systems which require one or more administrative signals to be transmitted over more than one of the multi-hop communication links. Administrative signal processing means are described for deriving a) an absolute administrative signal which is indicative of an absolute value derived by a communication apparatus of the multi-hop system; and b) at least one relative administrative signal which is indicative of a value derived by another communication apparatus of the multi-hop system relative to said absolute value. Particularly applicable to multi-hop communication systems which utilise resource control techniques for balancing the transmission resources allocated to each of the communication links.
