  • Publication number: 20060267618
Abstract: An integrated circuit (IC) includes multiple embedded test circuits that all include a ring oscillator coupled to a test load. The test load either is a direct short in the ring oscillator or else is a interconnect load that is representative of one of the interconnect layers in the IC. A model equation is defined for each embedded test circuit, with each model equation specifying the output delay of its associated embedded test circuit as a function of Front End OF the Line (FEOL) and Back End Of the Line (BEOL) parameters. The model equations are then solved for the various FEOL and BEOL parameters as functions of the test circuit output delays. Finally, measured output delay values are substituted in to these parameter equations to generate actual values for the various FEOL and BEOL parameters, thereby allowing any areas of concern to be quickly and accurately identified.

  • Publication number: 20060230958
Abstract: A registration system for a rotary press including circumferential and sidelay registers designed to interface to the press unit using more direct motion translation. In particular, to go from rotational motion of a motor to linear motion of the adjustment with fewer transitions. Also discussed are measurement systems which measure the adjustments made to the plate cylinder more directly by measuring the linear movement of components acting on the cylinder as opposed to the movement of the motor or power source of the registration system. These systems can provide for more accurate movement to the various elements.

  • Patent number: 7121207
Abstract: Systems and methods for modifying, altering, constructing, or retrofitting an existing newspaper press having a first cut-off length, to have a second cut-off length which is different from and generally less than the first. These systems and methods generally provide for the machining of new bore holes into the existing press unit frame. The new bore holes will generally completely encompass the old bore holes and allow for linear translation of the axes of rotation of the new cylinders relative to the positions of the axes for the old cylinders.

  • Patent number: 7084750
Abstract: An annular antenna and transponder are affixed to a tire using the transponder as a counterweight to offset tire imbalance. The annular antenna is attached to an inner tire surface and is coupled electrically to a transponder device and is fixed relative to a housing in which the transponder device is packaged. The mass of the transponder housing is used specifically to counterbalance tire imbalance by first ascertaining the position at which a counterbalance would prove to be beneficial and then affixing the annular assembly to the tire so as to position the mass of the transponder housing at the optimal location for counterbalancing benefit.

  • Publication number: 20060161662
Abstract: A robust device messaging framework is disclosed that enables a user to send commands to a device. A provisioning service is used to provision unique device identities and maps user web identities to device identities. The provisioning service also limits device per day provisioning attempts to limit denial of service attacks. A command service allows remote users to issue commands to a device, synchronize outgoing commands with incoming results, receive accurate feedback about whether a command was received, and maintain state information about the device. A device layer encrypts and stores device identities, authenticates itself with the command service, establishes a high-availability Internet connection to receive alerts that a command has issued, and reports results to the server-based command service.

  • Publication number: 20060117545
Abstract: A method of securing a tire-based unit (24) of a tire condition sensing system (12) to a rim (60) and an associated apparatus (62) are provided. The method comprising the steps of: position a mounting bracket (124) on the rim (60); positioning a punch (140) against the mounting bracket (124) so that a portion of the mounting bracket (124) is interposed between the punch (140) and the rim (60); pressing the punch (140) against the mounting bracket (124) so as to deep draw portions of the mounting bracket (124) and the rim (60); and attaching the tire-based unit (24) to the mounting bracket (124). The deep drawn portion of the mounting bracket (124) becomes fixed within the deep drawn portion of the rim (60).

  • Patent number: 7004218
Abstract: A tire has a carcass reinforcement extending between a pair of opposing bead portion. At least one of the bead portions terminates axially to the outside by a tip and is intended to be mounted on a wheel rim having a bead seat that has an axially outer end closer to the axis of rotation than the axially inner end thereof. Within the bead portion are a bead ring and a bead apex. The radial carcass reinforcement ply is anchored in each bead portion and has at least one terminal end located in the bead portion. In the bead portion, the reinforcement ply passing radially inward of the bead ring, extending axially outward of the bead ring. The reinforcement ply terminates without passing back under the bead ring.

  • Publication number: 20050262533
Abstract: A user interface is described having a cycling display of content representations. In an implementation, a user interface includes a cycling display of a plurality of textual representations of a plurality of content items. Each textual representation references a corresponding one of the content items. At least one of the textual representations is selectable by a user to navigate to the referenced corresponding content item. The cycling display of the plurality of textural representations is cycled without user intervention such that at any one particular time during a cycling of the cycling display, at least one of the textural representations is displayed on the cycling display while another one of the textural representations is not displayed on the cycling display.
