  • Publication number: 20240063988
Abstract: A first wireless device outputs, to a second wireless device, a first indication of a set of TR locations associated with a communication channel, where the set of TR locations are selected based on an estimate of an associated communication channel. The first indication of the set of TR locations includes at least one of a subcarrier bitmap, a granularity for the subcarrier bitmap, a subcarrier RIV, or a CSI-RS for TR. The network entity outputs a communication for the second wireless device, the communication including a first set of data tones and a second set of reserved tones, in a same symbol, based on the first indication of the set of TR locations.

  • Publication number: 20240064618
Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to processing synchronization signal block (SSB) signals and/or corresponding system information block (SIB) based on whether the SSB is received directly from a network node or from a router in a path from the network node. For example, a signal originated from a network node can be received. It can be determined whether the SSB is received from the network node or from a router in a path from the network node, and the SSB or a corresponding system information block (SIB) of the network node can be processed based on whether the SSB is received from the network node or the router. Other aspects relate to indicating whether a SSB is from a network node or a router in the path.

  • Publication number: 20240056993
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some implementations, a wireless communications network may support per-beam synchronization signal block (SSB) periodicity configurations. A network entity may transmit, using a first beam, a first SSB associated with a cell supported by the network entity. The first SSB may include a first broadcast channel that indicates a first periodicity for transmission of the first SSB associated using the first beam. In addition, the network entity may transmit, using a second beam, a second SSB associated with the cell supported by the network entity. The second SSB may include a second broadcast channel that indicates a second periodicity for transmission of the second SSB associated with the cell using the second beam. In such cases, the second periodicity may be different from the first periodicity.

  • Publication number: 20240056994
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may monitor for a set of synchronization signals that includes a first subset of synchronization signals allocated according to a first time-frequency pattern and a second subset of synchronization signals allocated according to a second time-frequency pattern different than the first time-frequency pattern. The first subset of synchronization signals and the second subset of synchronization signals are monitored during a first time interval. The UE may receive one or more synchronization signals of the set of synchronization signals based on the monitoring. The UE may establish a connection with a network entity based on receiving the one or more synchronization signals. The UE may receive an indication of the second time-frequency pattern from one or more synchronization signals of the first subset of synchronization signals.

  • Patent number: 11894889
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first device, such as a user equipment (UE) or base station, may receive, at a first antenna of a first antenna array, a first set of reference signals. The first device may measure the phase for each of the reference signals and estimate a linear offset between the first antenna array and a second antenna array of a second device that transmitted the reference signals. The first device may adjust an alignment of the first antenna array according to the estimated linear offset. The first device may receive a second set of reference signals, measure the phase for each of the reference signals, and estimate one or more rotational offsets between the first antenna array and the second antenna array. The first device may adjust the alignment of the first antenna array based on the one or more rotational offsets.

  • Publication number: 20240039167
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A communications device may transmit a first signal. The first signal may be transmitted from a first antenna array of the communications device through a lens of the communications device in a direction. An energy of a portion of the first signal may be below a threshold based on a position of a second antenna array of the communications device. The portion of the first signal may correspond to a portion of a reflection of the first signal that overlaps with the position of the second antenna array. The communications device may concurrently receive, at the second antenna array, a second signal originating from another direction, where the second signal may be focused in the direction of the second antenna array based on the lens.

  • Publication number: 20240031085
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for dedicated pilot signals associated with radio frequency impairment compensation. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) and a network entity may support a signaling mechanism according to which the UE may measure and report, to the network entity, an imbalance between an in-phase (I) component and a quadrature (Q) component of a modulated signal. For example, the UE may request the network entity to transmit an out-of-band pilot signal to enable frequency domain residual side band (FDRSB) estimation at the UE and the UE may transmit measurement information associated with the IQ imbalance or the FDRSB estimation to the network entity. The network entity may receive the measurement information and compensate or correct signaling in accordance with the received measurement information.

  • Publication number: 20240022362
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For instance, the described techniques support resource offset mapping for multiplexing. Resource offset mapping may refer to the mapping of frequency-domain symbols to different subsets of resources that are offset from each other or separated by gaps. For instance, a first wireless device may map a first set of frequency-domain symbols to a first subset of subcarriers and a second set of frequency-domain symbols to a second subset of subcarriers. A lowest subcarrier of the second subset of subcarriers may be separated by an offset or a gap from a highest subcarrier of the first subset of subcarriers. As a result, at least some distortion experienced on subcarriers in the gap may not spread to other subcarriers, and the reliability and throughput of communications between the first wireless device and a second wireless device may improve.

  • Publication number: 20240014924
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device such as a user equipment (UE) may receive a message that indicates a coding procedure such as a multi-level coding (MLC) procedure to implement for ongoing communications. The UE may select a first code rate indicator value from a plurality of code rate indicator values corresponding to a first code rate for a first coding level of the coding procedure, and may select a second code rate indicator value that corresponds to a second code rate for a second coding level of the coding procedure. The UE may then transmit a coding level indicator report which includes the selected first code rate indicator value and second code rate indicator value. Based on the transmitted coding level indicator report, the UE may communicate at least one data packet using the coding procedure and the first and second code rates.

  • Patent number: 11870622
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A non-coherent modulation configuration may be selected for a transmission of a set of data based on a radio frequency spectrum band used for the transmission. After selecting the non-coherent modulation configuration, the set of data may be modulated using a differential phase shift keying modulation technique. After selecting the non-coherent modulation configuration, a set of frequency-domain symbols may be generated from the set of modulated symbols using a discrete Fourier transform. The set of frequency-domain symbols may be mapped to a set of subcarriers, and a time-domain waveform may be generated from the mapped set of frequency-domain symbols, yielding a time-domain waveform. The time-domain waveform may be transmitted over the radio frequency band.
