  • Publication number: 20090121062
Abstract: Spoon-shaped kitchen implement including a shallow bowl (110) and a handle (120). The shallow bowl (110) has a leading edge (111), a concave upper surface and a convex lower surface. The handle (120) is attached to the bowl (110) at a position substantially opposite the bowl's leading edge (111). The bowl (110) also has a plurality of grating holes (112) through it that present a rubbing zone that is sufficiently rough that a gratable foodstuff can be reduced to small particles by rubbing it on the zone. Two such implements can be pivotably joined at their handles, to form a pair of tongs (200).

  • Patent number: 6453560
Abstract: A cutting device especially designed for cutting up salad greens includes two blades, a rib and handles. The two blades are inter-secured to rotate together about a common axis, but are spaced apart from each other along the common axis. The rib is pivotably secured to the two blades so as to rotate about the common axis, and is curved in a direction of rotation so as to have a concave surface. The handles are integrated with the two blades and the rib to control the two blades and the rib to rotate simultaneously between open and closed positions. The concave surface of the rib is the lead surface when moving from the open position to the closed position, and the cutting edges of the two blades cross edges of the concave surface when moving from the open position to the closed position, so as to perform a cutting action.

  • Patent number: 6406409
Abstract: A combination of a set of free weight plates of at least two different sizes and a rack therefor. In the set of two or more free weight plates of different sizes, each plate has a round center bar hole and at least one racking hole. The size, shape or placement of the racking hole varies from one size weight plate to another. The rack has a set of at least two parallel, substantially horizontal posts that corresponds to each size weight plate in the set of plates. Each set of posts includes a bar hole post and at least one racking hole post that is complementary in size, shape and location to the at least one racking hole of the corresponding size weight plate.
