The handle (120) is attached to the bowl (110) at a position substantially opposite the bowl's leading edge (111). The bowl (110) also has a plurality of grating holes (112) through it that present a rubbing zone that is sufficiently rough that a gratable foodstuff can be reduced to small particles by rubbing it on the zone. Two such implements can be pivotably joined at their handles, to form a pair of tongs (200).
