  • Patent number: 7788443
Abstract: A mechanism is provided for transparent multi-hit correction in associative memories. A content associative memory (CAM) device is provided that transparently and independently executes a precise corrective action in the case of a multiple hit being detected. The wordlines of a CAM array are modified to include a valid bit storage circuit element that indicates whether or not the corresponding wordline is valid or not. In operation, if multiple hits are detected, the multiple hit is signaled to the host system and the particular entries in the CAM array corresponding to the multiple hits are invalidated by setting their associated valid bit storage circuit elements to an invalid value or clearing the value in the associated valid bit storage circuit element. Any data returned to the host system as a result of the multiple hits is invalidated in the host system in response to the signaling of the multiple hits.

  • Patent number: 7788444
Abstract: Mechanisms for multiple hit (multi-hit) detection in associative memories, such as a content addressable memory (CAM), are provided. The illustrative embodiments include a hit bitline that discharges as RAM side entries of the associative memory are accessed. The hit bitline is precharged high and pulled low by a series of devices that are activated as each RAM side row is accessed. As more RAM side rows are accessed, the hit bitline drops lower in voltage. The hit bitline drives an inverter with a threshold set such that any voltage equal to or lower than the threshold indicates a multi-hit situation. Any voltage higher than the threshold indicates a single hit or “no-hit” situation. Thus, from the voltage of the hit bitline, the presence of a multi-hit condition may be detected.

  • Publication number: 20090301573
Abstract: A hose control system comprising a receiver and a transmitter by which one can remotely control both the flow of water through a hose and the winding or unwinding of the hose onto a reel. The system preferably has power saving advantages, for example, by the use of a power control unit that reduces the power consumed by the electronics of the devices, but does not unreasonably disrupt the use of the devices. The receiver may be used with different aspects or all of the hose control system.

  • Patent number: 7613944
Abstract: A programmable local clock buffer for integrated circuit devices which is capable of varying initial settings is provided. The illustrative embodiments allow a single type of local clock buffer (LCB) to be used throughout an integrated circuit design while still being able to provide differing initial offsets and pulse widths for different local circuitry portions of the integrated circuit design. Delay circuit paths are provided, which provide discreet delay values, within the LCB that can be chained together when the LCB is instantiated to set the initial offset and pulse width values. When an LCB is instantiated in the integrated circuit device design, various ones of the delay circuit paths are connected together with the existing circuit paths of the LCB, i.e. the circuit paths that provide the pre-established offset and pulse width values, in order to set the initial offset and pulse width values for the LCB.

  • Publication number: 20090253996
Abstract: A device is described that integrates sensors into a housing which can be placed on a human head for measurement of physiological data. The device includes at least one sensor and a reference electrode connected to the housing. A processor coupled to the sensor and the reference electrode receives signals that represent electrical activity in tissue of a user. The processor generates an output signal including data of a difference between an energy level in each of a first and second frequency band of the signals. The difference between energy levels is proportional to release level present time emotional state of the user. The device includes a wireless transmitter that transmits the output signal to a remote device. The device therefore processes the physiological data to create the output signal that correspond to a person's mental and emotional state (response).

  • Patent number: 7588224
Abstract: A universal clamp assembly having a support fitting with arms and a threaded bolt mounted to the arms allowing rotation about a longitudinal axis of the bolt. The bolt is retained against axial movement along the longitudinal axis. A clamp member is rotatably mounted on the bolt between the arms for rotation of the clamp member relative to the support fitting about the longitudinal axis. The clamp member is restrained against axial movement relative to the support fitting and the bolt along the longitudinal axis. The clamp includes a guide opening through which the bolt extends. A keeper is threadedly mounted on the bolt and partially received in the guide opening. The keeper slides in the guide opening along the longitudinal axis and is restrained against rotation about the longitudinal axis of the bolt relative to the clamp member. The keeper is rotatable about the longitudinal axis concurrently with the clamp member.

  • Publication number: 20090150919
Abstract: Embodiments described herein enable the correlation between a media instance and physiological responses of human subjects to the media instance. While the subject is watching and/or listening to the media instance, physiological responses are derived from the physiological data collected from the subject. Additionally, audio and/or video signals of the media instance are collected. Program-identifying information is detected in the collected signals to identify the exact segment of the media instance that the subject is listening to and/or watching. The identified segment of the media instance is then correlated with the one or more physiological responses of the subject.

  • Publication number: 20090105809
Abstract: An implantable stent includes multiple circumferential segments that surround a bore and are connected in series along a length to form a tubular wall. Multiple adjacent alternating opposite facing crowns arranged along each segment's circumference are bridged by struts. The struts include a series of staggered arcuate edges with limited flats to provide a limited region of maximum width between significantly extended reducing diameter tapers at either end where they transition into the crowns. Connections between adjacent segments are wider and stiffer than the struts and strut-crown transitions in the segments. The crowns include inner and outer radii with off-set centers along a common axis to provide medial crown peaks along the axis that are wider than the narrowed crown shoulders on either side of the axis and from which the tapered struts extend. Material strain and flexure along the stent during lateral bending is distributed mainly within the segments, e.g.

  • Publication number: 20090094629
Abstract: Embodiments are described that enable remote and interactive access, navigation, and analysis of reactions from viewers to a media instance. The reactions include physiological responses, survey results, verbatim feedback, event-based metadata, and derived statistics for indicators of success and failure from the viewers. The reactions are aggregated, and an interface enables remote access and navigation of the media instance, aggregated physiological responses synchronized with the media instance, survey results, and/or verbatim feedback related to the media instance. This enables users to interactively divide, dissect, parse, and analyze the reactions as they prefer. This automation provides an automated process enabling non-experts to understand complex physiological data, and to organize presentation of complex data according to their needs so as to present conclusions as appropriate to the media instance.
