  • Patent number: 5878418
Abstract: A system and method for generating a data set including information with respect to a plurality of data elements utilized by an application program is disclosed. The data set is used to automatically initialize a database of said data elements for use with said application program. The data set is also utilized to automatically generate a set of database maintenance applications providing user interfacing to the database.

  • Patent number: 5796791
Abstract: A system and method for predictive dialing from a centralized or network based apparatus available to calling agents geographically separated from both the apparatus and other agents. A user communicates call management information via a network connection to a predictive dialing apparatus to configure the apparatus for the user's particular needs. Thereafter the apparatus may instigate a calling campaign unattended, utilizing technology such as interactive voice response, or upon calling agents connecting to the apparatus. Agents connecting to the apparatus do so utilizing various network connections and network elements. The apparatus communicates call management information as well as call statistics to the user via a network connection.

  • Patent number: 5699412
Abstract: There is disclosed a distributed architecture messaging recording system that employs a statistical engine to monitor system usage and to distribute individual subscribers across the various nodes of the systems so as to minimize the likelihood of system blockages. The statistical engine monitors access to the system by both system subscribers and by callers leaving messages for the subscribers. The statistical engine monitors time of day of use and duration of use, as well as functions used, such as broadcast functions to then rearrange the subscribers on a dynamic basis.

  • Patent number: 5581553
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for linking remote telecommunications ports connected to remote nodes wherein the functionality of a centralized switching system is distributed among the remote nodes. A multichannel bus couples the remote nodes to each other. In a preferred embodiment, the transmit channels of selected remote ports are permanently assigned to specified channels within the bus while the receive channels of the remote ports are permitted to float between all of the bus channels. In this distributed architecture, each node may receive a request from an associated port for a connection to another port. Each node is capable of performing the switching connections locally resulting in less message protocol being passed between nodes.

  • Patent number: 5311588
Abstract: There is disclosed a method and system for determining the progress of a calling connection. The system measures the peak voltage of the signals on the line and derives a ratio of these peak signals to the average value of the signal. From this ratio a determination is made as to the calling condition of the line.

  • Patent number: 4959854
Abstract: A system is provided to automatically reconfigure resource modules (302) to perform selected functions. Incoming telephone calls are allocated by a resource manager (304) to appropriate resource modules (302). Based upon logic programmed into a computer (309) coupled to the resource manager (304), the system can predict how many resource modules (302) providing each function are required to handle the incoming calls. The computer (309) directs the resource manager (304) to reconfigure certain of the resource modules (302) to provide the necessary functions. This reconfiguration can occur dynamically during any particular call.
