  • Patent number: 10973547
Abstract: This disclosure provides a retractor for use in repairing vaginal tears following birth. The retractor is formed as a sheet of soft rubber, plastic or silicone and is rolled or folded for vaginal insertion; the retractor is resilient so as to provide a spring force which urges the vaginal canal open to a degree that facilities visualization and obstetric repair while avoiding unnecessary strain on the tissues being repaired. An optional flange structure can be provided so as to provide a structure for the surgeon/OB to reposition the retractor in-situ, and also to serve as a stop or retainer to hold the retractor in place. The disclosed retractor is self-retaining, such that both of a surgeon's hands can be freed for other tasks.

  • Publication number: 20180101807
Abstract: A method for generating productivity insights includes receiving health data for a user of a productivity evaluation service. From the health data, health behaviors and health effects of the user are determined. Productivity data for the user is received, and from the productivity data, productivity behaviors and productivity effects of the user are determined. Associations between changes in the health data and changes in the productivity data are identified. Based on one of the associations, a productivity insight is generated for the user including a prompt to engage in a health behavior that is associated with a desirable productivity effect.

  • Patent number: 9400541
Abstract: Techniques pertaining to analyzing power consumed by a processing unit in a mobile computing device caused by execution of certain modules are described herein. A power trace is generated that indicates an amount of power consumed by the processing unit over time, and the power trace is aligned with an execution log. Spikes are extracted from the power trace, and computing operations are performed over the spikes to acquire data pertaining to power consumed by the processing unit that are attributable to modules in the execution log.

  • Patent number: 9378015
Abstract: A system is described herein that predicts defects in a portion of code of an application that is configured to execute on a computing device. Versions of code are analyzed to locate change bursts, which are alterations to at least one portion of code over time-related events. If a change burst is identified, defects are predicted with respect to the code based at least in part upon the identified change burst.

  • Patent number: 9315939
Abstract: A monofilament with longitudinally oriented grooves and fabrics made thereof having reduced air permeability, wherein the reduced permeability is achieved without using additional coatings or stuffer yarns. Bicomponent monofilaments made from these grooved monofilaments using solution or wire coating have improved coating adhesion and may also include a conductive coating. In addition, the grooved bicomponent monofilaments may include a wear-indicating mechanism. Also disclosed are monofilaments with grooves formed in its surfaces. Advantageously, these grooved monofilaments exhibit improved adhesion to “sheet-grip” coatings, as compared with circular monofilaments. In addition, fabrics comprising these grooved monofilaments demonstrate improved air handling. The grooved monofilaments may be incorporated in a fabric as MD yarns, CD yarns, or both CD and MD yarns.
