Abstract: The present disclosure is directed toward systems and methods for tracking objects in videos. For example, one or more embodiments described herein utilize various tracking methods in combination with an image search index made up of still video frames indexed from a video. One or more embodiments described herein utilize a backward and forward tracking method that is anchored by one or more key frames in order to accurately track an object through the frames of a video, even when the video is long and may include challenging conditions.

Abstract: A lip balm container includes a first container element that defines a first compartment configured to house a first portion of lip balm such that a second portion of the lip balm extends from the compartment, and a second container element connected to the first container element and moveable relative thereto between a closed and an open position. When in the closed position, the second container element covers the second portion of the mass of lip balm extending from the first compartment of the first container element, and in the open position, the second portion of the lip balm is exposed for use. The second container element remains connected to the first container element as the second container element is moved between the open and closed positions.

Abstract: The Learner Interaction Monitoring Systems (LiMS) is a web-based application that can interface with any web-based course delivery platform to transform the online learning environment into an active observer of learner engagement. The LiMS ‘event capture model’ collects detailed real-time data on learner behavior in self-directed online learning environments, and interprets these data by drawing on behavioral research. The LiMS offers education and training managers in corporate contexts a valuable tool for the evaluation of learner performance and course design. By allowing more detailed demonstration of ROI in education and training, LiMS allows managers to make the case for web based courseware that reflects appropriate and evidence-based instructional design, rather than budgetary constraints.

Abstract: A server within an online environment is configured to store a set of bookmark media objects that provide a multimedia preview of the destinations within the environment. The bookmark media objects can be graphic thumbnails of corresponding web pages, audio streams, video streams or any combination thereof or other suitable media that provides a representation of the destination. A client device is communicatively coupled to the server and is configured to store references to the network destinations and references to the corresponding bookmark media objects. A web browser executing in an operating environment provided by the client device is configured to retrieve and present the bookmark media objects to a user for selection. Based on the selection, the web browser accesses the corresponding network destination. Each bookmark media object is updated as a function of a current state of the corresponding network destination, user information or general conditions of the computing environment.

Abstract: A system and method is provided for handling the collation of linguistic symbols of different languages that may have various types of compressions (e.g., from 2-to-1 to 8-to-1). A symbol table of the symbols identified as Unicode code points is generated, with each symbol tagged with a highest compression type of that symbol by sorting the compression tables of the various languages. During a sorting operation with respect to a given string, the tag of a symbol in the string is checked to identify the highest compression type of compressions beginning with that symbol, and the compression tables for the language with compression types equal or lower than the highest compression type of the symbol are searched using a binary search method to find a matching compression for the symbols in the string. A common search module is used to perform binary searches through compression tables of different compression types.
