Publication number: 20150000957Abstract: Disclosed is a method and assembly for providing tension to a transmission line in a pipe. The method includes inserting a transmission line into a transmission line channel of a pipe. The transmission line has a first end and a second end, the transmission line being inserted into a first end of the pipe second-end-first. The transmission line has a first tension-load-supporting mechanism attached to the first end of the transmission line. The method includes applying a first level of tension to the transmission line in the pipe and applying a second tension-load-supporting mechanism to the second end of the transmission line while the first level of tension is applied to the transmission line. The method further includes removing the first level of tension from the transmission line to maintain a second level of tension along the transmission line between the first and second tension-load-supporting mechanisms.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 27, 2013Publication date: January 1, 2015Inventors: Michael Koppe, Stephan Mueller, Ingo Roders, Rene Schulz, Henning Rahn, Robert Buda, Detlev Benedict, Julia Reisewitz, Helmut Floerke

Publication number: 20130092441Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer-readable medium for reducing a vibration of a drill string in a borehole. A sensor of the drill string obtains one or more measurements of a parameter of the vibration. A processor determines at least one force for controlling the measured vibration from the measured parameter. At least one actuator applies the determined at least one force against the borehole wall to control the vibration of the drill string.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 6, 2012Publication date: April 18, 2013Applicant: BAKER HUGHES INCORPORATEDInventors: Olof Hummes, Matthias Meister, Sven Krueger, Bernd Santelmann, Michael Koppe

Publication number: 20100322030Abstract: A downhole tool starts recording seismic energy. During the recording time, a surface seismic source is activated a specified number of times with a nominally defined separation between successive. The downhole sensor receives seismic waves resulting from the activation, but the time of the shooting sequence is not known downhole. The recorded data stream is processed and converted in real-time into seismic traces. A predefined number of traces are stacked and the quality of this sliding stack is used to detect time of the shooting sequence. The method could be used to detect one or several shooting sequences during a measurement window.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 15, 2010Publication date: December 23, 2010Applicant: Baker Hughes IncorporatedInventors: Radu Coman, Michael Neubert, Holger Mathiszik, Michael Koppe
