  • Patent number: 10885900
Abstract: Improvements in speech recognition in a new domain are provided via the student/teacher training of models for different speech domains. A student model for a new domain is created based on the teacher model trained in an existing domain. The student model is trained in parallel to the operation of the teacher model, with inputs in the new and existing domains respectfully, to develop a neural network that is adapted to recognize speech in the new domain. The data in the new domain may exclude transcription labels but rather are parallelized with the data analyzed in the existing domain analyzed by the teacher model. The outputs from the teacher model are compared with the outputs of the student model and the differences are used to adjust the parameters of the student model to better recognize speech in the second domain.

  • Patent number: 10730778
Abstract: A method and apparatus for increasing dewatering efficiency of a solids-laden liquid stream in a wastewater treatment facility, whereby a liquids-solids stream is pumped into a mixing apparatus in a closed-channel liquid flow conduit configuration, where the liquids-solids stream is intensely mixed with air and polymer in a mixing zone created by an adjustable flow restriction device, performing similar to a venturi to increase the velocity, agitation, and turbulence of the liquids-solids stream internal to the mixer, where the introduction of air and polymer to the stream is introduced independent of mixing energy. Compared with current methods and apparatuses to mix polymer with solids-laden wastewater, the present method and apparatus requires less energy, where it enables the addition of air independent of mixing energy, and it creates a zone of mixing with greater mixing efficiency via increased turbulence.

  • Publication number: 20200198433
Abstract: An active suspension system is configured in a strut arrangement. The active suspension system comprises a hydraulic actuator and a hydraulic pump/electric motor assembly, wherein the actuator movement is preferably in lockstep with the hydraulic motor-pump and electric motor-generator combination. Torque in the electric motor is instantaneously controlled by a controller to create an immediate force change on the hydraulic actuator. The hydraulic actuator is configured so that it can be used as a strut whereby the actuator has sufficient structural rigidity to carry the applied suspension loads while capable of supplying damper forces in at least three quadrants of the force velocity graph of the suspension actuator operation. Embodiments disclosed include low cost active suspension systems for a MacPherson strut application.

  • Patent number: 10680732
Abstract: Mechanisms for controlling sample rate and frequency shift of a digital signal in a multi-operator network. A method is performed by a network node. The method includes obtaining a frequency difference and a phase difference between two clock domains. One of the clock domains is associated with a radio access network of a network operator of the multi-operator network and the other of the clock domains is associated with a distributed antenna system in the multi-operator network. The method includes controlling sample rate conversion of the digital signal between the two clock domains using the phase difference. The digital signal is communicated between the radio access network and the distributed antenna system. The method includes controlling a frequency shift of the digital signal using the frequency difference.
