  • Patent number: 9953747
Abstract: A cable for power distribution applications includes a plurality of wires bundled into the cable. The plurality of wires typically is comprised of interior wires and peripheral wires with the peripheral wires surrounding the interior wires. At least one wire is coated with a high emissivity coating that includes at least 10 weight percent aluminum oxide and a metal oxide other than aluminum oxide. Characteristically, the wire coated with the high emissivity coating has an emissivity greater than about 0.5 in the infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum and a surface area at least 50 times greater than the surface area of a bare wire prior to being coated with the high emissivity coating.

  • Publication number: 20180007493
Abstract: A method includes receiving, at a network control component, an enhanced subscriber profile identifier (E-SPID) associated with at least one machine type communications (MTC) user device from a home subscriber server (HSS). The method includes determining whether the E-SPID is in a first range of E-SPID values, wherein the first range of E-SPID values corresponds to a delay that exceeds a threshold, and interacting with a self-organizing network (SON) controller that interacts an operation administration maintenance (OAM) component to control and define a modified E-SPID based on network traffic and coverage in response to a determination that the E-SPID is in the first range of E-SPID values. The method further includes sending the modified E-SPID to at least one enhanced evolved node b (eNodeB) associated with the at least one MTC user device, wherein the at least one enhanced eNodeB is operable to perform access control and scheduling for the at least one MTC user device based on the E-SPID.

  • Publication number: 20170145580
Abstract: A system and a process for continuously electrolytically coating a light metal coil is provided. The system includes a bath containing a precursor for an electroceramic coating on a light metal coil and containing a cathodic connection, at least one motor connected to at least one motive assembly to impart movement to the coil. A power source provides voltage and current to the coil through the electrification device, and through the coil in the bath to the cathode connection via the aqueous electrolytic solution. The process includes electrifying bare coil with a voltage and a current, passing the electrified bare light metal coil through a bath having a cathodic connection and containing an aqueous solution with a precursor for an electroceramic coating, and electrochemically reacting the light metal coil with the precursor thereby generating a coated light metal coil having an electroceramic coating on at least one surface.

Abstract: A system and a process for continuously electrolytically coating a wire, useful for a high tension cable, is provided. The system includes a bath containing a precursor for an electro-ceramic coating on a wire and containing a cathodic connection, at least one motor connected to at least one motive assembly to impart movement to the wire. A power source provides high voltage and high current to the wire through the electrification device, and through the wire in the bath to the cathode connection via the aqueous electrolytic solution. The process includes electrifying bare wire with a high voltage and a high current, passing the electrified bare wire through a bath having a cathodic connection and containing an aqueous solution with a precursor for an electro-ceramic coating, and electrochemically reacting the wire with the precursor thereby generating a coated wire having an electro-ceramic coating on at least one surface.

  • Patent number: 9301165
Abstract: A device may determine that a parameter of a base station, included in a network, is to be adjusted. The device may determine a first proposed adjustment based on a first SON algorithm associated with adjusting the parameter based on performance information of multiple base stations included in the network. The device may determine a second proposed adjustment based on a second SON algorithm associated with adjusting the parameter based on performance information of the base station. The device may determine a weight factor, associated with the base station, based on a relationship between the base station and one or more neighbor base stations included in the network. The device may determine a final adjustment based on the first proposed adjustment, the second proposed adjustment, and the weight factor. The device may cause the parameter of the base station to be adjusted based on the final adjustment.

  • Patent number: 5546853
Abstract: A gas barbecue grill has a housing, a grate supported by the housing for supporting food for cooking, and a gas burner for supplying heat. The gas burner includes at least one fluidic burner element centrally located and projecting a heating flame aligned substantially along the centerline and downward. A heat distribution member having an axis aligned with the centerline has at least a pair of downwardly diverging planar elements with the burner projecting a flame along the centerline which heats the center of the distribution member. The heat distribution member has first and second groups of apertures, the first group of apertures being proximate one end of the heat distribution member and spaced from the center of each of said planar elements. A second group of apertures formed proximate the end of heat distribution member opposite the burner end and spaced from the center of the distribution member and in each of the planar elements.

  • Patent number: 5505003
Abstract: A monitoring system having a stylus mounted to a support that controllably moves the stylus along a travel path as it contacts an object of interest. The object is supported by a rotating turntable and held in place by a manually actuatable retainer that exerts a repeatable downward force on the object. A frame that supports the stylus is supported by a flexure plate that makes the task of orienting the frame easier. The frame supports a saddle that can be raised and lowered by a belt system driven by a D.C. pancake motor. The entire monitoring system achieves a required degree of accuracy in monitoring object shape at a reduced manufacturing cost.
