  • Publication number: 20100188149
Abstract: A lock-in amplifier with an additional phase-sensitive detector is provided. A measurement signal is mixed in a multiplicative fashion with a reference signal, which is phase-shifted by 90 degrees, for a modulation frequency. In order to reliably filter out interference signal portions in a widest possible dynamic range and, at the same time, minimize unavoidable influence on the useful signal portion, a control device is connected downstream of the additional phase-sensitive detector. The control device determines a control variable corresponding to the strength of the interference signal from the measurement signal mixed with the reference signal phase shifted by 90 degrees and uses the control variable to change the integration duration of the integrator proportionally to the control variable, a corresponding cut-off frequency of an equivalent low pass being coordinated automatically.

  • Publication number: 20070113223
Abstract: A list scheduler in a compiler can select from a plurality of alternative instruction sequences for one or more computation performed within an application. A scheduler can initially identify and track one or more computations for which multiple alternative instruction sequences exist. An available instruction list can be populated with the alternative instruction sequences. The list scheduler can access the available instruction list during scheduling of the application. The list scheduler can perform a cost analysis while scheduling the instructions by performing a look ahead. The list scheduler may select alternate instruction sequences for similar computations occurring in different portions of the application based on the cost benefit analysis.

  • Publication number: 20060225061
Abstract: A method and apparatus for optimizing register allocation during scheduling and execution of program code in a hardware environment. The program code can be compiled to optimize execution given predetermined hardware constraints. The hardware constraints can include the number of register read and write operations that can be performed in a given processor pass. The optimizer can initially schedule the program using virtual registers and a goal of minimizing the amount of active registers at any time. The optimizer reschedules the program to assign the virtual registers to actual physical registers in a manner that minimizes the number of processor passes used to execute the program.

  • Patent number: 6734893
Abstract: An endoscopy illumination system with a light-emitting element placed at the tip of an endoscope is disclosed. Pulses of light illuminate moving parts of the human body, enabling an observer to obtain information about the dynamical behavior of intracorporal structures, including vocal fold oscillations. An electronic control unit, which may obtain frequency and phase information from a microphone detecting the sound of an examinee's voice, generates light pulses for stroboscopy. The light-emitting elements are over-modulated light emitting diodes in the preferred embodiment. The endoscopy illumination system may be powered by batteries, rechargeables, or transformers. When image capture devices, including CCD and CMOS cameras, are used to record video images, electronic gating circuits activate the light-emitting elements, resulting in improved imaging.
