  • Publication number: 20050247478
Abstract: A cable manager provides horizontal cable management of adjacent patch panels or network equipment on network distribution racks. The cable manager includes a central section and a front cable routing section and is mountable on a network rack, such as an EIA rack. The central section has a longitudinal width sized to fit within the network rack, a front side, a rear side, and rack mounting holes provided on opposite longitudinal ends of the central section. The front cable routing section extends from the front side of the central section and, includes a plurality of spaced fingers having an arcuate surface that provides bend radius control. A slit provides flexibility to the fingers. Ears extend laterally from the fingers. The cable manager can also include a rear cable routing section that includes a second plurality of spaced fingers. One or more passthrough openings can be provided in the central section to allow routing of cabling from the front section to the rear section.

  • Publication number: 20050221683
Abstract: Cable managers of the present invention include a panel, at least two adjacent spaced-apart projections, which define an opening therebetween, and a tab connected to at least one of the projections. The tab assists in cable routing and retention. In one embodiment, the tab extends to a distance at least midway between a top surface of the one projection and the bottom surface of the other projection. In another embodiment, a distance between a top surface of the tab on one projection and the bottom surface of another adjacent projection is between about 0.10 inches and about 0.30 inches. In yet another embodiment, a cable manager comprises separable portions, and at least one spacer member which is adapted to be attached to each of separable first and second portions. The spacer member increases the width of the manager to provide additional space to run cable within the manager.

  • Publication number: 20050189277
Abstract: A denitrification system for denitrified wastewater or nitrified water treatment using a detergent or detergent-like compound comprising available carbon. The system comprises a plurality of interconnected tanks including a mixing tank which feeds detention tanks which in combination provide a detention time period for the effluent. A controller determines the amount of detergent dispensed into the mixing tank in accordance with the measured volume of effluent to be treated. The mixing tank comprises a heater for maintaining the nitrified effluent temperature above 50 degrees F. An optional line filter can be added to the output of the system for further reducing organic nitrogen concentration. An alternate embodiment comprises passing the final denitrified effluent through a pump chamber for pumping of the effluent to a sand filter capable of reducing bacterial populations.

  • Publication number: 20050159493
Abstract: Methods for modulating macrophage proliferation in an individual afflicted with or at risk for a macrophage-associated disease are provided. The methods employ a polyamine analog, or salt or protected derivative thereof. Macrophage proliferation has been implicated in a number of serious disorders, including AIDS (HIV)-associated dementia, AIDS-associated non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and Alzheimer's disease. The invention also provides methods for aiding diagnosis and monitoring therapy of a macrophage-associated non-HIV associated dementia, especially Alzheimer's disease. The invention also provides methods of delaying development of macrophage-associated non-HIV associated dementias, including Alzheimer's disease, which entail administration of an agent which modulates macrophage proliferation.

  • Publication number: 20050129784
Abstract: Methods of using a stabilized chlorite solution to inhibit antigen-specific immune responses are disclosed. The stabilized chlorite solution, when administered to a mammal in need thereof, can prevent the presentation of antigens by antigen presenting cells. The stabilized chlorite solution therefore is useful in treating, inter alia, auto-immune diseases, treating diseases caused by an inappropriate immune response, treating lymphoproliferative disease and in inhibiting rejection in transplant patients.

Abstract: Observing an object within a visual blind spot of a motor vehicle includes using a mirror with at least one motor mechanically coupled thereto. Preferably, a position of the side view mirror can be adjusted by the at least one motor. An object detector detects objects within a visual blind spot of a vehicle. The object detector is operable to provide a detection signal to the at least one motor to adjust a position of the mirror to provide a view of the blind spot to a driver of the vehicle. The view can be toggled between normal viewing and blind spot viewing depending on the detection signal. The view can also be adjusted to track the object.

  • Patent number: 5810301
Abstract: An adjustable, sturdy upper body support assembly for keyboard operators includes a pair of adjustable armrests mounted on a rigid frame which can be incorporated into a standalone system or into a workstation system. In one embodiment, the support assembly is positioned adjacent and partially underneath a piece of furniture. The support assembly in this embodiment includes a counter-balance member which is adjustable and can be positioned adjacent an underside surface of the piece of furniture. The piece of furniture interacts with the counter-balance member to prevent the assembly from tipping when the user rests part of their upper body, including their arms, on the armrests. In another embodiment, the assembly includes a support frame and an upper body support apparatus. The upper body support apparatus is movably engaged with the support frame to permit the apparatus to be moved underneath a piece of furniture when not in use.
