  • Patent number: 6433524
Abstract: A resistive bridge interface circuit includes: (a) a pair of input power terminals; and (b) a resistive bridge circuit that includes a pair of parallel resistive branches coupled between the pair of input power terminals; (c) where each resistive branch of the resistive bridge interface circuit includes a voltage output terminal and a switch incorporated in series with the resistive branch; and (d) where each switch is activated at a duty cycle. In one embodiment, at least one of the resistive branches includes a variable resistor incorporated in series therewith. In an alternate embodiment, each resistive branch includes a variable resistor incorporated in series therewith, where such variable resistors vary in response to an environmental condition (such as strain experienced by the variable resistors) in opposite directions with respect to each other.

  • Patent number: 5703810
Abstract: A latch/mask mechanism that is located between the sense amplifiers of a DRAM and the data bus. The latch/mask mechanism decouples the data bus from the sense amplifiers and permits innovative, time saving functionality during read and write operations. During a write operation, the latch can receive only those byte(s) or a row of bytes to be written. Corresponding mask bits are set to indicate those bytes to be written. Logic in the device transfers only those bytes in the row to be written to the sense amplifiers for writing to memory, leaving the data of remaining bytes in memory intact. Read operations are rendered more efficient by enabling logic, coupled to column select logic, to automatically transfer from the latch the byte selected by the column select logic and the adjacent byte. This time saving feature is particularly useful for computer graphics applications which utilize linear interpolation processes.

  • Patent number: 5188597
Abstract: A safety needle syringe includes a barrel having an inside surface defining a chamber, an open proximal end and a distal end. A movable needle carrier is positioned in fluid-tight engagement with the inside surface of the barrel and includes a distal end, a proximal end and a passageway therethrough in fluid communication with the chamber. A needle cannula projects outwardly from the distal end of the carrier and includes a lumen in fluid communication with the passageway. A plunger assembly is slidably positioned in fluid-tight engagement with the inside surface of the barrel. Structure is providing for allowing the distal end of the plunger to engage the carrier for allowing distally and proximally directed forces applied to the proximal end of the plunger to be transmitted to the carrier.
