  • Publication number: 20180307636
Abstract: In a virtualized computer system in which a guest operating system runs on a virtual machine of a virtualized computer system, a computer-implemented method of providing the guest operating system with direct access to a hardware device coupled to the virtualized computer system via a communication interface, the method including: (a) obtaining first configuration register information corresponding to the hardware device, the hardware device connected to the virtualized computer system via the communication interface; (b) creating a passthrough device by copying at least part of the first configuration register information to generate second configuration register information corresponding to the passthrough device; and (c) enabling the guest operating system to directly access the hardware device corresponding to the passthrough device by providing access to the second configuration register information of the passthrough device.

  • Publication number: 20180282185
Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a slightly heavy particle system for wastewater treatment, comprising a contactor. Said contactor includes a gas-liquid-solid three-phase region, and said gas-liquid-solid three-phase region includes gas phase, liquid phase, and solid phase. Said liquid phase is the continuous phase and said solid phase is slightly heavy particles. Said slightly heavy particles are able to carry some microorganisms on their surfaces at least, and the density of said slightly heavy particles is higher than the density of said liquid. The slightly heavy particle system of the present disclosure applied in wastewater treatment can increase the concentration of microorganisms significantly, improve the ability to bear impact load, produce less sludge, and without sludge expansion. Meanwhile, the means to suspend slightly heavy particles with the combined effect of gas and liquid is able to reduce energy consumption to a larger extent.

  • Publication number: 20180261808
Abstract: A battery pack for use with a motorized architectural structure covering is illustrated. The battery pack includes a battery tube, and first and second end caps. The battery tube may include a valley portion located between first and second battery cavities for receiving first and second rows of batteries. The second end cap may include one or more projections (e.g., first and second tabs, handle, etc.) to facilitate removal of the battery pack from mounting clips associated with the motorized architectural structure covering. The removable, second end cap may include first and second release buttons extending into the valley portion. The release buttons may have a wider portion adjacent to the second end cap, and a narrower portion extending at least partially into the valley portion. The release buttons preferably include a tapered, for example, triangular, or trapezoidal shape, to extend into the valley portion for facilitating user engagement therewith.

  • Patent number: 10073713
Abstract: A source virtual machine (VM) hosted on a source server is migrated to a destination VM on a destination server without first powering down the source VM. After optional pre-copying of the source VM's memory to the destination VM, the source VM is suspended and its non-memory state is transferred to the destination VM; the destination VM is then resumed from the transferred state. In one embodiment, the source VM memory is either paged into the destination VM on demand, or is transferred asynchronously by pre-copying and write-protecting the source VM memory, and then later transferring only the modified pages after the destination VM is resumed. In one embodiment, the source and destination servers share common storage, in which the source VM's virtual disk is stored; this avoids the need to transfer the virtual disk contents.

  • Patent number: 10066050
Abstract: A process for producing polymer-supported metal nanoparticles involves confinement of metal nanoparticles in polymeric nanotubes or nanosheets in an aqueous environment using hydrophobic reactants. Metal nanoparticles supported in the polymeric nanotubes or nanosheets are substantially monodisperse and have an average particle size of 4 nm or less. The polymer-supported metal nanoparticles are useful in fuel cells, sensors, bioanalysis, biological labeling or semi-conductors, especially as catalysts.

  • Publication number: 20180218782
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a drug monitoring tool. The drug monitoring tool comprises a data receiver and an interactive user interface. The data receiver is configured to receive a pharmacokinetic (PK) profile of a patient. The interactive user interface is configured to display, to the patient, a time-varying therapeutic plasma protein level of the patient. The time-varying therapeutic plasma protein level is based on an administered dose of a clotting factor VIII and the PK profile of the patient.

  • Patent number: 10038975
Abstract: Various examples are directed to systems and methods for provisioning news items. A news provisioning application may apply user interest data to select a first news item from news data and determine that the first news item is negative for the first user based at least in part on the financial data. The news provisioning application may receive, from a first network-enabled device, physiological data describing a physiological condition of the first user at a first time and determine to provide the first news item to the first user based at least in part on the physiological data. The news provisioning application may send to a second network-enabled device, alert data instructing the second network-enabled device to modify the operation of the second network-enabled device to generate an alert indicating the first news item.

  • Publication number: 20180172038
Abstract: An electromagnetically operated powertrain system is provided. The system includes a plurality of cylinder assemblies arranged in parallel at least partially along a vehicle. Each of the cylinder assemblies may include one or more cylinders, one or more electromagnetic devices secured to at least one of the ends of each cylinder, one or more pistons reciprocatingly received in the cylinders, and a piston rod coupled to the pistons. Each of the pistons includes a permanent magnet that creates a magnetic field interacting with an electromagnetic field generated by each of the electromagnetic devices. A pulling and/or pushing force may be selectively generated by the magnetic field and the electromagnetic field to enable the pistons to reciprocate within the cylinders. A crankshaft is coupled to the piston rods of the plurality of cylinder assemblies and directly coupled to at least one of front and rear axles of a vehicle.
