  • Patent number: 10643403
Abstract: There is provided a method of predicting defects likely to occur in a vehicle over a predetermined period. The method includes receiving vehicle characteristic data regarding a vehicle under consideration, and comparing the received vehicle characteristic data with a defect database. The defect database includes information related to defects that have occurred in different vehicles and the mileage at which such defects occurred. The method additionally includes identifying defects that occurred in vehicles corresponding to the vehicle under consideration, and the mileage at which such defects occurred. Defects which fail to satisfy minimum count requirements are then filtered out, and the defects are then sorted in order of the highest defect count.

  • Publication number: 20200069358
Abstract: Systems and methods for enhancing surgical outcomes by providing generators having optimal RF output for sealing, fusing and/or cutting tissue or vessels under all dynamic conditions are described. Examples of dynamic conditions may include varying tissue impedance load due to electrosurgical operations or tissue affects, any operational conditions and commands determined by the surgeon, surgical procedure and/or device script. This is achieved by implementing a digital closed-loop control system within the electrosurgical generator to regulate voltage, current, and power of the RF output. The digital closed-loop control system may include an RF amplifier for generating RF energy, a feedback system for constantly monitoring the electrical characteristics, e.g.

  • Publication number: 20180208983
Abstract: Method and composition for identifying cognate nucleotides in a Sequencing By Binding™ procedure, wherein one or more labeled nucleotides are detected in ternary complexes but never incorporated. Labeled nucleotides can be incorporable nucleotides that contact preformed blocked primed template nucleic acids. Alternatively, labeled nucleotides are labeled non-incorporable nucleotides. Labeled nucleotides, including labeled non-incorporable nucleotides, can be detected in ternary complexes in the same reaction mixture that incorporates a reversible terminator nucleotide to create a blocked primed template nucleic acid. Detection of ternary complexes can take place in the presence of a catalytic metal ion.

  • Patent number: 9892568
Abstract: A method is disclosed for determining the cost of operating a vehicle over a defined period of time. The method proceeds by establishing, on a database, a schedule of anticipated future repairs for a plurality of vehicle types, the repair schedule including the cost of the repairs and the approximate mileage at which the anticipated future repair(s) are expected to become necessary. A processor, in communication with the database, receives information identifying a particular of vehicle, and the present mileage associated with that particular vehicle. Using the vehicle type information, the vehicle's present mileage information and the repair schedule, the processor then computes the approximate total future repair costs for maintaining the vehicle over a defined period of time.

  • Publication number: 20170177029
Abstract: According to an example of providing access to a portable computing device, a connection is established with a docking station. A request from the docking station to perform an action related to a portable computing device is received, and a rule associated with the portable computing device from a policy database is fetched. A determination is made whether to perform the action, and in the event that an action is to be performed, an instruction is transmitted to perform the action on the docking station.

  • Patent number: 9142066
Abstract: A multi-stage diagnostic system and related method which seeks diagnostic information from a secondary information source when a first information source does not yield sufficient data for producing a diagnostic result. In particular, diagnostic process includes a first stage of communicating with an onboard vehicle computer to retrieve diagnostic trouble codes therefrom. If no diagnostic trouble codes are retrieved from the onboard computer, the diagnostic process proceeds to a second stage wherein symptomatic diagnostic information is solicited from the user. A series of symptomatic questions may be presented to the user on a smartphone. The answers from the symptomatic questions may be used to identify a most likely solution, which may be associated with a repair part(s). The corresponding repair part(s) may be identified by an associated universal part number(s) based on vehicle identification information associated with the vehicle needing repair.
