  • Publication number: 20170269828
Abstract: A simple gesture control system that permits accurate, simple, and secure input of personal identification numbers (PIN) by visually impaired or blind persons at a payment terminal or automatic teller machine is provided. By the user interface, invisible keys can be selected by simple wiping gestures. Here, any necessity for visual or spoken feedback or localization of operating elements is rendered unnecessary. As a result, blind or visually impaired users can input a secret number by touch operation automatically and without outside help. In this way, account is also taken of the statutory requirements in different countries.

  • Patent number: 9751243
Abstract: A method for producing a molding, the shape of which is adapted to an initial mold, in which method a plurality of layers are deformably placed on top of one another such that the layers can be joined to each other by heat. The layers are deformed by being pressed onto the initial mold and in order to join the layers. Heat is applied in the deformed state. In the arrangement made of layers, at least one converter element is introduced that transforms supplied energy into heat energy and with which at least parts of the layers are heated to join the layers.

  • Patent number: 9159203
Abstract: An automated teller machine is proposed having at least one camera to detect manipulation attempts that captures images of one or more elements arranged in the control panel, such as a keypad, cash-dispensing drawer, card entry slot and generates image data from a plurality of individual image recordings (F1, F2, F3). The at least one camera is connected to a data processing unit that preprocesses the image data generated (individual image data) into a resulting image (R). The preprocessed image data of the resulting image (R) can be computed, for example, by exposure blending from the individual images (F1, F2, F3) and represent a very good data base for data evaluation to detect manipulation.

  • Patent number: 8631246
Abstract: A method for commencing operation of an encrypted pin pad (EPP) of a self-service terminal. The EPP includes a security module that is capable of encrypting a confidential numeric code entered over the EPP with a PIN key. The EPP has a sensor that detects whether the EPP is installed properly in the self-service terminal or not. The sensor signal is scanned by the security module of the EPP. The EPP automatically goes to a non-operational mode if the sensor signal indicates that the EPP is not properly installed. The EPP, after passing from an operational to a non-operational mode, can only be returned to operation by entering an authorized activation code in the keypad security module.
