  • Publication number: 20190287344
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of determining rewards due to a player playing a game on a regulated gaming machine may comprise providing a game configured to provide a player-selectable choice of difficulty levels; associating a respective maximum Return to Player (RTP) for each of the difficulty levels, and at least one pay schedule for each of the maximum RTPs; accepting funds from a player; receiving a player selection of one of the difficulty levels; configuring the game to enable wagers using the accepted funds and a selected pay schedule(s) such that amounts returned to the player are selectively between a minimum RTP and the maximum RTP associated with the player-selected difficulty level; enabling game play of the game as configured, and receiving inputs from the player.

  • Patent number: 10403096
Abstract: A game, configured for execution in a regulated gaming machine, may require skillful actions by a player to achieve an objective of the game. The game may be further configured such that outcomes are partially determined by randomness and partially determined by inputs to the regulated gaming machine from the player. A computer-implemented method may comprise, iteratively, during game play of the game: receiving inputs from the player via a player interface; generating a skillful action within the game based upon the received player inputs, and generating an outcome of the skillful action that is partially determined by randomness and partially determined by the generated skillful action based upon the player inputs. A reward may be selectively provided to the player according to the generated outcome and according to a predetermined target Return to Player (RTP) percentage for the game.

  • Patent number: 10366572
Abstract: A computer-implemented method may comprise providing a regulated gaming machine and a game in which skilled players most often achieve greater success than less-skilled players. The game may be configured to generate in-game assets configured such that interaction therewith by players during game play selectively triggers wagers. Before the player inputs are used to interact with the in-game assets, random perturbations are introduced in one or more characteristics thereof, the random perturbations being configured such that the selectively triggered wagers, in the aggregate, reward both the skilled players and the less-skilled players according to a predetermined target Return-to-Player (RTP) percentage for the game. The randomly-perturbed player inputs may then be used to interact with the plurality of in-game assets to generate outcomes. Depending upon the generated outcomes, rewards may be provided to and displayed for the players, according to the predetermined target RTP percentage of the game.

  • Publication number: 20190096186
Abstract: A method of determining rewards due to a player playing a regulated gaming machine may include configuring player interaction with a plurality of games assets to give rise to first Wagering Opportunities and a selectively available second Wagering Opportunity. The game may be further configured to have an overall minimum return to player (RTP) and an overall maximum RTP. Using the accepted funds and a first payout schedule that defines a first RTP that is at least as great as the minimum overall RTP, it may be determined whether and how much to reward the player whenever the player interacts with the first Wagering Opportunities to generate first Wagering Events. For at least some of the first Wagering Events generated, a portion of a reward due to the player may be virtually contributed to a bounty.

  • Patent number: 8864572
Abstract: A gaming machine and method having a high-low game including a plurality of ranked symbols. The gaming machine enables the player to select a number of ranked symbols to play in the game and to make a wager. The gaming machine displays the number of ranked symbols. For each of the displayed ranked symbols, the gaming machine associates another one of the ranked symbols, a comparison symbol, with the displayed ranked symbol and enables the player to make an input to indicate whether the comparison symbol will be of a higher rank or a lower rank than the displayed ranked symbol. After the player makes the input, the gaming machine generates the comparison symbol and determines if the player's input was correct. The gaming machine provides an award to the player if the player makes a predetermined number of correct inputs.
