  • Patent number: 9950241
Abstract: A snow ski assembly is provided for use by an individual to slide across a snow covered surface, for example, under the force of gravity. The assembly includes a ski having a bottom wall for engaging a snow covered surface and an upturned peripheral region extending around a perimeter of the bottom wall to help facilitate sliding movement of the ski across a snow covered surface in any direction, without preference to a particular direction, and to help inhibit the ski from digging into the snow covered surface when sliding across the snow covered surface. The assembly also includes a mounting feature for coupling a binding to the bottom wall of the ski, such that an individual can position a foot in the binding and use the ski to slide across the snow covered surface.

  • Patent number: 9954834
Abstract: A computing device has a first application and a second application. The first application generates a data access application key for use by the second application to enable decryption of data that is stored in encrypted form on the computing device using the data access application key. In operation, the second application generates a public/private key pair. The second application sends a request to the first application for the first application to send the second application a data access application key, the request including the public key. The first application derives the requested data access application key as a function of at least the public key. The first application sends the derived data access application key to the second application.

  • Patent number: 9952102
Abstract: In one example, an electronic signal is received from a target color measurement instrument that includes a plurality of color channels. A response of the target color measurement instrument to a light emitted by a target light emitting device is extracted from the signal. The response is calibrated to minimize a difference between the response and an output of a color matching function of a standard observer. Calibrating includes multiplying the response by a calibration matrix. The calibration matrix combines measurements of a first plurality of lights from a tunable light source and measurements of a second plurality of lights from the target light emitting device. A first subset of the measurements of the first plurality and second plurality of lights are made by the target color measurement instrument and a second subset of the measurements of the first plurality and second plurality of lights are made by a reference spectroradiometer.

  • Patent number: 9953951
Abstract: Some embodiments include a method. The method can comprise: providing a carrier substrate; providing an adhesion modification layer over the carrier substrate; providing a device substrate; and coupling the device substrate and the carrier substrate together, the adhesion modification layer being located between the device substrate and the carrier substrate when the device substrate and the carrier substrate are coupled together. In these embodiments, the adhesion modification layer can be configured so that the device substrate couples indirectly with the carrier substrate by way of the adhesion modification layer with a first bonding force that is greater than a second bonding force by which the device substrate couples with the carrier substrate absent the adhesion modification layer. Other embodiments of related methods and devices are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9950069
Abstract: A hydrophilic biocompatible sustained-release material is disclosed. The material comprises amounts of Pluronic F-127, PEG-400, HPMC and water, effective to produce a composition of sufficiently low viscosity at room temperature to be injectable into an internal body cavity via a tube inserted within a urinary catheter. At body temperature, the material exhibits a much higher viscosity and will stably adhere to the internal surface of a body cavity. As the material dissolves, a therapeutic agent incorporated therein is slowly released to the body cavity, while the material itself is excreted from the body.

  • Patent number: 9952432
Abstract: An apparatus for electro-optically reading targets is mounted in an orientation on a head of a human operator having eyes for directly viewing a calibration target along a sightline. A light source directs a visible light beam away from the apparatus. A calibration assembly adjustably moves the light source, no matter the orientation of the apparatus, to visually position the light beam on the calibration target that is simultaneously being directly viewed along the sightline in a calibration mode of operation. A data capture assembly is operative, subsequent to the calibration mode, for electro-optically reading the targets on which the light beam is visually positioned in a reading mode of operation.
