Abstract: An electrical device having a clocked circuitry, and a method for testing the power supply unit of the electrical device. The electrical device comprises an electrical load, a clocked power supply unit, at least one pulse transformer and an evaluation device. The power supply unit comprises a power stack having at least one power semiconductor switch and is configured for generating a clocked voltage for the electrical load from an electric voltage based on an alternating on/off switching of the power semiconductor switch. The power stack exhibits at least one current path, through which an electric current flows during operation. The pulse transformer generates a signal assigned to the change in the charge and/or the direction of the electric current flowing through the current path. The evaluation device evaluates the signal coming from the pulse transformer and draws a conclusion regarding the operational reliability of the power semiconductor switch.

Abstract: A remote lock-out, tag-out system for controlling multiple buckets in a motor control center employs a safety network providing serial communication between one or more remote lock-out, tag-out stations and individual buckets of the control center permitting remote disconnection of power without the need for protective gear.

Abstract: A baffle for directing air in a convection oven is disclosed herein. The baffle includes upper vents, lower vents and side vents that direct air from a fan into the cooking chamber of the convection oven. Left and right conduits are disposed around the fan that collect the air and direct the air to the upper and lower vents. The left and right conduits and locations of the upper and lower vents are configured to produce an even distribution of cooking temperatures throughout the cooking chamber.

Abstract: A sealed plug-in circuit breaker panel has an enclosure defining a sealed interior portion. The enclosure includes a housing, a face plate removably coupled to the housing and a front seal member disposed between the face plate and the housing such that the face plate and the housing are sealingly engaged. The panel further includes an electrical bus structure coupled to the housing, a plurality of first plug-in members coupled to the bus structure and a number of circuit breakers disposed in the enclosure. Each circuit breaker includes a manual operator and at least a pair of second plug-in members which are electrically coupled to corresponding first plug-in members. The manual operator protrudes through and extends from a respective aperture formed in the face plate. The panel further includes a number of feeders and load connectors electrically coupled to the bus structure.

Abstract: Systems and methods described herein employ techniques for optimized and selective management of policy deployment/delivery to mobile clients in a congested network to, for example, prevent further aggravation of network congestion. In order to address mobile network congestion it is necessary to be able to enforce network management policies on the devices which are specifically in the congested areas. This presents a challenge as the process of knowing and keeping track of where a device is geographically located within the network actually consumes network resources. There is a tradeoff between the accuracy with which you know a given devices location and the amount of resources required to gain this knowledge. Thus, it is crucial to have a way to determine the location of a device in the network with sufficient accuracy such that congestion management policies can be applied effectively while not unduly taxing the network with additional traffic.

Abstract: Multi-level encoded data transfer is disclosed. 2n bits may be encoded in a data signal each half clock cycle. For example, four bits may be transferred each clock cycle. Prior to data transfer, each data line may have two bits ready to be encoded. The two bits may be encoded to one of four different data states. The clock may be divided into four intervals for each half clock cycle, with each interval corresponding to one of the four data states. The two bits may be encoded into the data signal based on the interval that corresponds to the data state. As one example, the data signal could transition during the interval that corresponds to the data state for the two bits. This encoding may be repeated for two other bits for the other half of the clock cycle. Thus, QDR or some other data rate may be achieved.

Abstract: A fabric chip includes a plurality of port interfaces, in which each of the plurality of port interfaces includes a network chip interface (NCI) block having a port resolution module to determine which of the port interfaces is to receive a packet from the NCI block and a crossbar block communicatively coupled with each of the NCI blocks in the plurality of port interfaces. In addition, at least two of the plurality of port interfaces are to be connected to at least two port interfaces of another fabric chip as trunked links of a trunk. Moreover, the NCI blocks of the at least two of the plurality of port interfaces include a resource that keeps track of the port interfaces in the fabric chip that are connected to the trunk links of the trunk.

Abstract: The systems and methods of the invention provide a workflow system for processing a financial application in an automated manner. The workflow system may include an interface portion, the interface portion inputting application information into the workflow system for processing by the workflow system and a workflow looping portion. The workflow looping portion may include performing underwriting processing to effect underwriting of the application based on the application information, performing issue processing to effect issue of the application, and performing settlement processing to effect settlement of the application. A rules logic portion may be provided to control the implementation of rules applied to the processing of the application as the application passes through the automated processing.

Abstract: An accelerometer device for reducing stress on the sensor resulting from temperature extremes and multiple coefficients of thermal expansion. An exemplary accelerometer device includes upper and lower stators and a reed. The reed includes a support ring and a paddle that is flexibly connected to the support ring. The support ring includes a ring section and at least two mounting devices. The mounting devices are at least partially mechanically isolated from the ring section. The ring section flexibly receives the paddle. The mounting devices include a pad area and a neck area that connect the pad area to the ring section. The neck area includes a width dimension that is narrower than a diameter dimension of the pad area.

Abstract: A method of vending a product from a vending machine into a reusable container adapted to receive the product from the vending machine, the method comprising: receiving user account information from a computer readable means disposed on the reusable container by the vending machine, said user account information corresponding to a user account comprising credit information; receiving an identifier from a mobile device; comparing the received identifier with a selected identifier associated with the user account; authorising deduction of credit from said user account by the vending machine in response to the received identifier matching the selected identifier; accessing said user account by the vending machine; deducting said credit corresponding to a credit value of said product from said user account based on said credit information to purchase the product; and subsequently vending said product to be received by the reusable container.

Abstract: A method and system for three dimensional crystallographic grain orientation mapping illuminates a polycrystalline sample with a broadband x-ray beam derived from a laboratory x-ray source, detects, on one or more x-ray detectors, diffracted beams from the sample, and processes data from said diffracted beams with the sample in different rotation positions to generate three dimensional reconstructions of grain orientation, position, and/or 3-D volume. A specific, cone beam, geometry leverages the fact that for a point x-ray source with a divergent beam on reflection of an extended crystal grain diffracts x-rays such that they are focused in the diffraction plane direction.

Abstract: Apparatus, computer readable medium, and method of allocating media resources, the method including determining a media resources allocation table based on one or more media hardware resources and predetermined benchmarks of media hardware resources for performing media operations; in response to receiving a request for media resources from a first application, comparing the requested media resources with the media resources allocation table; and if the comparison indicates that the requested media resources are available, then allocating the requested media resources to the first application in the media resources allocation table, and sending a response to the request for media resources to the first application indicating the requested media resources are allocated to the application. If the comparison indicates that the requested media resources are not available, then sending indicating to the first application that the requested media resources are not allocated to the first application.

Abstract: A method for removing an electronic module from a base where the module includes a latch extractor assembly and a stiff shift member with latch arms outside the module body and follower arms inside the module body. An extractor engages the follower arms to move the shift member laterally and move the latch arms out of engagement with the base to free the module for removal from the base.

Abstract: Based on an m×n halftone matrix and an m×n pixel block of an image, an m×n halftone version of the m×n pixel block may be determined. An n-way interleave may be performed on rows of the m×n halftone version to create an mn×1 halftone segment. The mn×1 halftone segment may be compared to one or more halftone segments in a buffer. Based on the comparison, a literal code word and a representation of the mn×1 halftone segment may be output, and the representation of the mn×1 halftone segment may be written to the buffer. Alternatively, a repeat code word and a repeat value may be output, and at least one representation of the mn×1 halftone segment may be written to the buffer.

Abstract: A source device can navigate towards a moving destination target device, such as when two mobile phones are moving towards each other. The source device can receive an initial position of the target and a route to the target. As the source device and target device simultaneously move, the route can be updated. For example, if a distance of movement exceeds a threshold (e.g., 1 mile) the route can be updated. In another embodiment, a target device can switch between position tracking devices so as to provide less accurate position information, but save power, or provide high accuracy position information at the cost of higher power consumption. Generally, the switching between position tracking devices and the frequency at which the route to the destination point can be based on the distance apart between the source device and target device.

Abstract: In a method for processing and utilizing bypass dust obtained during the production of cement, it is proceeded as a) contacting the bypass dust with an aqueous phase and mixing the same to obtain a homogenous slurry, with water-soluble components of the bypass dust being dissolved in the aqueous phase, b) carrying out a solid-liquid separation to separate the solids contained in the slurry so that a brine is remaining, c) separating heavy metals present in the brine and precipitating calcium as poorly soluble calcium salts, e.g. CaCO3, to obtain a processed brine, and d) subjecting the processed brine to a fractional crystallization.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine reformer installation comprising an internal combustion engine, a mixing device having a first feed conduit for a first substance flow and a second feed conduit for a second substance flow, wherein a mixture can be produced from the first and second substance flows in the mixing device, a reformer for reforming the mixture to afford a synthesis gas, a mixture conduit connected to the mixing device and the reformer, and a synthesis gas feed conduit connected to the reformer and the internal combustion engine, wherein arranged in the synthesis gas feed conduit are a first heat exchanger in heat-coupling relationship with the first feed conduit and a second heat exchanger in heat-coupling relationship with the second feed conduit.
