Abstract: Methods and devices for encoding a point cloud. A current node associated with a sub-volume is split into further sub-volumes, each further sub-volume corresponding to a child node of the current node, and, at the encoder, an occupancy pattern is determined for the current node based on occupancy status of the child nodes. A probability distribution is selected from among a plurality of probability distributions based on occupancy data for a plurality of nodes neighbouring the current node. The encoder entropy encodes the occupancy pattern based on the selected probability distribution to produce encoded data for the bitstream and updates the selected probability distribution. The decoder makes the same selection based on occupancy data for neighbouring nodes and entropy decodes the bitstream to reconstruct the occupancy pattern.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and software can be used to improve security of an authentication process in a cargo shipping system. In some aspect, an authentication request message is received at a sensor from a cargo tracking device. The authentication request message includes a key that the sensor will use to decrypt its encrypted public key/private key pair. In response to the authentication request message, the sensor sends an authentication response message to the cargo tracking device that is encrypted using a derived symmetric key. The cargo tracking device sends an authentication confirmation message to the sensor in response to the authentication response message.

The electronics package includes a flexible substrate, with shells set on this substrate. The shells enclose the electronics. The shells are connected by a flexible circuit board. Analog front end circuitry is placed in one shell, while the wireless transceiver is placed in the other shell.

Abstract: Network information may be discoverable without requiring a connection to that network. For example, Access Network Query Protocol (“ANQP”) may allow a device to discover information about a network prior to the device associating with that network. In other words, ANQP allows a network terminal to request additional network information prior to establishing network capability. The additional network information that may be discoverable includes network latency, cellular capabilities, hotspot capabilities, mobility capabilities, neighbor reports, station identification, and multiple hotspot session identification.

Abstract: In some examples, a system detects an accident involving a first vehicle, where the detecting is based on an accident indication received by the service over a network from a second vehicle not involved in the accident, the second vehicle different from the first vehicle, and where the accident indication from the second vehicle is responsive to messages received by the second vehicle from other vehicles. In response to the detecting of the accident, the system verifies that the accident occurred by sending, from the service, queries to a roadside unit and a third vehicle, and receiving, at the service, responses to the queries from the roadside unit and the third vehicle, the responses containing event data collected by the roadside unit and the third vehicle of events in a vicinity of the accident.

Abstract: A dual positioned recirculating chute that would allow the operator to run the plant in either closed circuit or open circuit position. While in closed circuit position, the plant will run rock through and the chute will provide as a recirculating chute for oversized rock to travel from the recirculating conveyor back into the feeder hopper for re-crushing. The operator can then reposition the chute to the open circuit position, which will change the direction of the chute away from the feeder hopper and discharge material off the side of the plant. This can be oversized rock material to form an additional stock pile or be redirected to an off-plant conveyor. This can also allow for the removal of trash and unwanted material from the plant cycle without the need for a full plant shutdown, locking out the proper equipment, and manually removing before restarting the crushing process again.

Abstract: A service type announcement element indicates one or more service types offered by an access point (AP) that supports station a wireless network. The service type announcement element is generated by the AP and included in a beacon frame or in a probe response frame. The beacon frame or the probe response frame is transmitted by the AP and received by a mobile device prior to the mobile device being associated with the AP. The mobile device makes a determination whether any of the one or more service types can assist with an operation of an application on the mobile device and implements a network selection algorithm based on the determination.

Abstract: A mobile device may retrieve service information about a network prior to associating with the network. Utilizing an advertisement protocol to transmit service query messages, a mobile device may receive service query responses from a network that identify the services available prior to establishing network capability. In other words, the messaging is prior to the exchange of any authentication parameters between the device and the network as well prior to the establishment of a recognized session between the device and the network.

Abstract: An irrigation system for a vertical farming structure having vertical grow towers and associated conveyance mechanisms for moving the vertical grow towers through a controlled environment, while being exposed to controlled conditions, such as lighting, airflow, humidity and nutritional support. The present disclosure describes a grow tower conveyance system that moves vertically-oriented grow towers to select positions along a grow line. An irrigation line having apertures at the select positions provides aqueous nutrient solution to the grow towers, while a gutter structure captures excess solution. In a closed loop system, the excess solution returns to a recirculation tank.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include techniques for managing dirty data. An agent receives a request for data. If the data is dirty data, the agent may use a replacement policy to determine if the data should be passed clean or dirty to the requestor. The replacement policy may correspond to how long the dirty data being stored in a cache line is to be maintained. In one embodiment, the replacement policy is a circuit, such as an SRAM and a logic circuit, for example.
