Abstract: A method and apparatus for preventing persons from leaving original documents in a document copier. A document is scanned by a document copier to produce a stored image thereof. Prior to producing any copies of the document, it is determined whether the document has been removed from the document copier. Producing any copies of the document is withheld unless it is determined that the document has been removed from the document copier. Alternatively, the stored image of the document may be examined to determine whether it includes selected information. If the stored image of the document includes the selected information, producing any copies of the document is withheld unless it is determined that the document has been removed from the document copier.

Abstract: Each of a plurality of jumper templates is configured to fit over a jumper block. Each jumper template contains a set of jumpers disposed to connect to pin pairs on the jumper block and thereby set the jumper block to one of a permissible setting for the jumper block. A jumper template may include a key that corresponds to a physical feature of the jumper block to ensure proper orientation of the jumper template with respect to the jumper block. Alternatively, a jumper template includes a jumper for each pin pair of a jumper block. Buttons are configured to move sets of the jumpers into or out of position to short selected pin pairs of the jumper block. The buttons correspond to permissible settings of the jumper block.

Abstract: One aspect of the disclosure is a method of providing a proxy user interface. A proxy user interface is provided for a secondary application activated by a user input. The proxy interface displays current or default settings for a task of that application. If no use input is received through the proxy interface, the task is performed. If a user input is received, the user interface for that application is presented to the user.
