  • Publication number: 20140243904
Abstract: An implantable tensile device and method of use thereof for flexibly securing skeletal parts. The device includes a planar tensile portion between fixation ends adapted to be fastened to skeletal parts. The tensile portion includes flexure slots extending from its sides beyond a longitudinal central axis to a terminal bottom. The flexure slots are keyhole shaped. The fixation ends are fastened to the skeletal parts with screw fasteners. The device can be fastened to the skeletal parts after pre-tensioning with an extension tool such that the skeletal parts to which the fixation ends are fastened are biased toward one another. Without pre-tensioning, the skeletal parts are flexibly secured and further expansion thereof is resisted. Abutment elements on the fixation ends are engaged by the extension tool for pre-tensioning.

  • Publication number: 20140143840
Abstract: The authority of a user seeking access to a vision system is authenticated by a directory server connected to a plurality of cameras. The directory server stores a device directory. When the user requests access to a given camera, a location of an identifier of the given camera in the device directory is determined. From data related to that location, a decision is made whether the user is associated with the given camera. If the user is associated with the given camera, a user access level linked with the user and the given camera is retrieved from the directory server. The user access level identifies a set of privileges corresponding to functions that the user is permitted to perform on the given camera. The user is then permitted to exercise that set of privileges on the given camera.

  • Publication number: 20140069018
Abstract: A roll-up door seal that may be monolithically formed from a single material of uniform density. The seal is sized and adapted to assemble to a standard roll-up door frame without a separate or dedicated frame structure. The seal provides redundant sealing surfaces, positioned to cooperate with both the door and door frame, which ensure an effective and durable fluid tight seal between the cargo space enclosed by the roll-up door and the ambient environment. The seal may be produced by extrusion from a flexible, weather resistant material such as EPDM, thereby providing a low cost solution for sealing roll-up doors having industry standard door frame constructions. The seal is firmly engageable with the door frame, such that the seal may be installed with little or no secondary fixation.

  • Publication number: 20130145794
Abstract: The present techniques are directed to a flexible liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant that may be tied to an external electric grid for importing or exporting electric power. Exemplary embodiments provide a method for producing LNG that includes producing a base load capacity of refrigeration capacity for LNG production from a first compression system. Electricity may be produced from a second compressor string if electricity is needed by an external power grid, or a second amount of refrigeration capacity may be provided by the second compressor string is natural gas feed is available and the external grid does not need power.

  • Patent number: 7984553
Abstract: A cable preparation tool having a main body, with a cable receiving end, a cable receiving area and a manipulation end. There is a center conductor support shaft guide channel in the manipulation end to receive a center conductor support shaft. The center conductor support shaft guide channel allows for the center conductor support shaft to enter a hollow center conductor of the cable and be removed from the hollow center conductor of the cable while the cable is within the cable receiving area. There is a jacket strip slot on the main body. There is a jacket strip blade attached at the jacket strip slot. There is a blade holder slot on the main body which receives a blade holder. There is a cable cutting blade attached to the blade holder. There is a cable slug slot on the main body.

  • Publication number: 20090287573
Abstract: A system and method for placing a live, interactive, product specific communication conduit on user desktops. A retailer, wholesaler, or any other type of provider of goods or services having a website describing one or more products selects specific products for which the retailer desires to enable direct communication with consumers. The display of the selected products on the retailer's website are marked with an identifiable label, for example, the text “Grab-It”. Consumers are enabled to drag and drop the display of the product to their desktop, creating an interactive icon (also referred to herein as a “satellite icon”.) The interactive icon supports two-way messaging between the retailer and the consumer. The retailer is enabled to push content regarding the selected content, for example, product specific advertising to the icon for display.
