  • Publication number: 20190090801
Abstract: Provided are implantable, injectable and/or surface mounted biomedical devices and related methods for interfacing with a target tissue. The devices have a substrate, one or more microfluidic channels embedded in or supported by the substrate and a fluid actuator in operational communication with one or more reservoirs and responsive to a wireless control signal. The components of the device are specially configured and packaged to be ultra-thin and mechanically compliant. In some embodiments, the devices are self-powered and fully implantable. • Patent number: 10236917
Abstract: Providing memory bandwidth compression in chipkill-correct memory architectures is disclosed. In this regard, a compressed memory controller (CMC) introduces a specified error pattern into chipkill-correct error correcting code (ECC) bits to indicate compressed data. To encode data, the CMC applies a compression algorithm to an uncompressed data block to generate a compressed data block. The CMC then generates ECC data for the compressed data block (i.e., an “inner” ECC segment), appends the inner ECC segment to the compressed data block, and generates ECC data for the compressed data block and the inner ECC segment (i.e., an “outer” ECC segment). The CMC then intentionally inverts a specified plurality of bytes of the outer ECC segment (e.g., in portions of the outer ECC segment stored in different physical memory chips by a chipkill-correct ECC mechanism). The outer ECC segment is then appended to the compressed data block and the inner ECC segment.

  • Publication number: 20190077657
Abstract: A gas-loading and packaging system is provided for loading a material used in a hydrogen fuel cell with gas and packaging the material in a sealed container. The gas may comprise a hydrogen gas or other gas. The material may, for example, comprise zeolite. The material is loaded with gas by exposing the material to the gas under high pressure and a cryogenic temperature of about 93 Kelvin or lower. When the material is exposed to gas under pressure and at cryogenic temperature, the gas absorbs into or adsorbs onto the material. The mass of the material is continuously monitored and used to determine when the material is loaded with the desired amount of gas. After the material is loaded with gas, high pressure and cryogenic temperature is maintained while the material is packaged and sealed in a cryogenically cooled container.

  • Publication number: 20180330831
Abstract: Reaction processes occurring within an exothermic reaction reactor are investigated by comparing changes to at least one material in the reaction to a non-reacted sample of the material. Prior to the reaction, a sample or “coupon” of the material is removed and retained. The coupon of material is withheld from the reactor. The material is placed in the reactor and at least one exothermic reaction is triggered and sustained. Following the exothermic reaction, the material is removed from the reactor. Both the material and the coupon are then analyzed to ascertain changes to the material that did not occur to the sample. These changes are indicative of processes that occurred in the reactor.

  • Patent number: 10127272
Abstract: Techniques for modifying a database query are disclosed. A source and/or time associated with an initial database query for execution on a database are determined. A modification of the initial database query is determined based on the source and/or time. The modification includes adding a filter to the initial database query. The modified database query is executed to return a set of results. Optionally, partitions of the database that are relevant to the modified database query may be selected. The modified database query may be executed on only the relevant partitions. The datasets included in the results to the modified database query may be more important, relevant, and/or valuable to a user than the datasets that were excluded based on the filter. The datasets included in the results may be retrieved from faster data storage than the excluded datasets.
