  • Publication number: 20240084974
Abstract: A pressure vessel assembly includes a plurality of pressure vessels which are disposed so as to be mutually parallel, one or a plurality of fixed bearings, and one or a plurality of floating bearings. Each pressure vessel at one longitudinal end is fastened to a fixed bearing and at an opposite longitudinal end is fastened to a floating bearing. The floating bearings define an initial intrusion space and, by displacing the pressure vessels along the floating bearings, a dynamic intrusion space opposite the floating bearings is defined.

  • Publication number: 20230332741
Abstract: A pressure vessel with a braided wall surrounds an interior in which an overpressure can be generated. The wall has a degree of coverage that is greater than 1 up to an overpressure, which maximally corresponds to a specified threshold, and a degree of coverage that is less than 1 when the threshold is exceeded. In this manner, gaseous fuel can be discharged slower than in a bursting event. A pressure vessel system having at least one such pressure vessel is disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20220187226
Abstract: A diffraction system for determining a crystalline structure of a sample collects a series of diffraction frames from a crystal sample illuminated by a beam of photonic or particulate radiation, such as X-rays. A plurality of software modules for processing the detected diffraction frames perform different tasks in refining the collected diffraction data, such as harvesting, indexing, scaling, integration, and structure determination. Output parameters from certain modules are used as input parameters in others, and are exchanged between the modules as they become available. The modules operate simultaneously, and generate successive versions of output parameters as corresponding input parameters are changed until a final result is achieved. This provides a system of structure determination that is fast and efficient.

  • Publication number: 20070033259
Abstract: A chat interface allowing a user to exchange haptic chat messages with other users in a chat session over a computer network. A chat interface can be displayed by a local computer and receives input data from a user of the local computer, such as text characters or speech input. The input data provides an outgoing chat message that can include sent force information. The outgoing chat message is sent to a remote computer that is connected to the local host computer via a computer network. The remote computer can display a chat interface and output a haptic sensation to a user of the remote computer based at least in part on the force information in the outgoing chat message. An incoming message from the remote computer can also be received at the chat interface, which may also include received force information. The incoming chat message is displayed on a display device to the user of the local computer.

  • Publication number: 20060094472
Abstract: An optimal compressor/decompressor (codec) module is intelligently selected for use when transmitting audio from a mobile communication device to a recipient. The codec can be selected based on the type of the audio data or the characteristics of the recipient. The codec can also be selected based on whether the audio data is to be transmitted to the recipient in real time or recorded and transmitted asynchronously. Audio data that is to be transmitted to the recipient is encoded or compressed using the selected codec and then sent to the recipient. Selection of the codec in this manner permits the compression to be optimized in response to specific circumstances associated with the communication of the audio data between the sender device and the recipient. The codec can be selected during the communication in response to a tone or other data provided by the recipient.

  • Publication number: 20060023642
Abstract: Systems and methods for defining and using a data collection profile in connection with a telecommunications network that includes multiple devices. Initially, a query is defined that concerns one or more aspects of the communications network. The query is then used as a basis for building a data collection profile. Next, a set of target devices is selected based upon criteria relating to the query. The data collection profile is then provided to the target devices which collect data in accordance with the data collection profile. Finally, the collected data is transmitted to a service platform for further processing.
