Patent number: 12657587Abstract: Systems and methods for preventing fraud using behavioral biometrics may include a server with memory and a processor. The processor may be configured to create a behavioral biometric use-print for a user based on a plurality of observed and recorded user interactions and then monitor one or more behavioral biometrics of the user while the user accesses a user account. These monitored behavioral biometrics may be compared against the behavioral biometric use-print to determine if there are material deviations indicating that the user is under stress. When the server determines that the user is under stress, it may provide an intervention to help safeguard against potential in-process fraud.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2023Date of Patent: June 16, 2026Assignee: Capital One Services, LLCInventors: Jennifer Kwok, Vyjayanthi Vadrevu, Michael Saia, Viraj Chaudhary, Phoebe Atkins, Tyler Maiman, Leeyat Bracha Tessler, Ray Cheng

Publication number: 20260141207Abstract: A modular transaction card assembly includes a card frame having the traditional dimensions of a credit card, and a transaction card that is smaller than a traditional card and that fits into a receptacle of the card frame. Each of the card frame and the transaction card may be capable of performing contactless data transactions individually. The combined assembly of the card frame with the transaction card secured in the receptacle is also capable of performing contact data transactions, and in some instances, with an identifier that is distinct from the card frame or the transaction card alone. The card frame may include a processor enabling it to perform data encryption and authentication of the smaller transaction card.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 19, 2025Publication date: May 21, 2026Inventors: Phoebe Atkins, Vyjayanthi Vadrevu, Michael Saia

Patent number: 12493883Abstract: A system includes one or more memory devices storing instructions, and one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to perform steps of a method providing biometric detection of coercion of a user. The system may detect a trigger event associated with a potential transfer of funds and may receive user biometric data. The system may determine, based on stored user biometric data and the detected user biometric data, a confidence level that the stored user biometric data is indicative of biological information representative of a user being in a stressed state. The system may initiate one or more precautionary safety measures.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 2023Date of Patent: December 9, 2025Assignee: CAPITAL ONE SERVICES, LLCInventors: Sophie Bermudez, Alexandra Colevas, Sarah Cunningham, Michael Saia, Kaylyn Gibilterra, Salik Shah

Patent number: 12462014Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying and remedying password insecurities are disclosed. The systems and methods include crawling websites to identify popular cultural terms and saving the cultural terms in a backend system. The cultural terms can include names of celebrities, politicians, movies, and the like. An identification system receives a password and compares the received password to the cultural terms using a similarity score. If the number of similarities is above a predetermined threshold, or if the number of differences is below a predetermined threshold, the identification system denies the password. A recommendation system can generate a suggested password, which can also be compared to the cultural terms. The systems and methods also provide the ability to calculate a similarity score if the cultural terms or passwords are saved in an encrypted or hashed format.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 2023Date of Patent: November 4, 2025Assignee: CAPITAL ONE SERVICES, LLCInventors: Jacob Learned, Michael Saia, Max Miracolo, Kaylyn S. Publication number: 20250335736Abstract: A modular transaction card assembly includes a card frame having the traditional dimensions of a credit card, and a transaction card that is smaller than a traditional card and that fits into a receptacle of the card frame. Each of the card frame and the transaction card may be capable of performing contactless data transactions individually. In some instances, the combined assembly of the card frame with the transaction card may detect a proximity of a mobile device to the assembly and generate an authentication credential that is unique to the combination of the card frame, the transaction card, and the mobile device. The authentication credential may be used to authentic the transaction card when conducting a data transaction.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 2, 2025Publication date: October 30, 2025Inventors: Phoebe Atkins, Michael Saia, Vyjayanthi Vadrevu

Patent number: 12333367Abstract: A modular transaction card assembly includes a card frame having the traditional dimensions of a credit card, and a transaction card that is smaller than a traditional card and that fits into a receptacle of the card frame. The card frame may include a window in which contact pads of the transaction card are positioned and flush with the surface of the card frame when the transaction card is secured in the receptacle. The card frame and transaction card assembled together may form a uniform assembly that appears and functions as a traditional transaction card (e.g., credit card).Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2023Date of Patent: June 17, 2025Assignee: Capital One Services, LLCInventors: Phoebe Atkins, Michael Saia, Vyjayanthi Vadrevu

Patent number: 12328393Abstract: Systems and methods of the present disclosure enable virtual tokens for dynamically mapping virtual account numbers to actual accounts. The systems and methods include receiving an electronic data modification instruction of a virtual record modification to cause at least one data modification to at least one attribute of a virtual record data structure associated with the actual account. A user record associated with the virtual record is determined, and a record modification preference associated with the user record is determined based on the modification condition. An authorization instruction is generated to authorize the electronic data modification instruction to cause the modification by instructing at least one database management system to modify the user record according to the record-specific modification.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 2022Date of Patent: June 10, 2025Assignee: Capital One Services, LLCInventors: Lin Ni Lisa Cheng, Elisa-Michelle Rodriguez, Leeyat Bracha Tessler, Kyle Johnson, Angelina Wu, Rocky Guo, Michael Saia

Patent number: 12141862Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for account status monitoring. The method can include receiving user registration information and account information corresponding to a first user account. The account information can include first user credit information. The method can include analyzing, by a machine learning rules engine, the account information and the user registration information to create a user behavior pattern associated with the first user account. The method can further include determining an anomaly in the user behavior pattern indicative of a life event. Based on the life event and the user registration information, the method can determine a second user account and corresponding account information comprising second user credit information. In response, the method can include predicting, by a convolutional neural network, an effect on the second user credit information resulting from the transfer of the first user credit information to the second user account.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2022Date of Patent: November 12, 2024Assignee: CAPITAL ONE SERVICES, LLCInventors: Michael Saia, Lin Ni Lisa Cheng, Rocky Guo, Seth Wilton Cottle
