  • Publication number: 20030062899
Abstract: In a method and a kryomagnet for the pulsed magnetization of the kryomagnet which comprises discs stacked on top of one another, with each disc including concentric annular conductor elements arranged in axially spaced relationship and each conductor element having two contact points forming two arms between the contact points for their energization, a transport current impulse is applied to each conductor element which pulse is divided in each conductor element into first and second partial currents I1 and I2 to flow through the two arms from one of the contact points in an opposite sense to the other contact point, wherein one arm has a length of maximally 35% of the circumference of the conductor element, the transport current having a polarity such that the larger partial current flowing through the shorter arm while the transport current is increasing flows in all the conductor elements in the same direction.

  • Publication number: 20030062014
Abstract: A switching-type intake pipe (10) for internal combustion engines comprises an intake duct (11) with a shorting aperture (16). Said shorting aperture (16) can be closed and opened by a switching flap (18,18′). Said switching flap (18) is connected via a non-rigid connection with a flap lever (20). The connection between said flap lever (20) and said switching flap (18) is formed by a plate (32) on the one side and a calotte (26) on the other side. Thus a tiltable connection, which is easy to manufacture and install, is produced between said switching flap (18) and said flap lever (20).

  • Patent number: 6533661
Abstract: A gaming machine having a plurality of reels, each with a plurality of symbols. A processor causing the symbols to change alignments when activated by a player. The machine is programmed with a plurality of winning combinations of selected different values. The combinations are accessed to a player when predetermined alignments of the symbols occur. A jackpot and a down pot each of a select value greater than any one of the combination of values, are provided. The jackpot is accessed to the player by an alignment of designated of the symbols. The down pot is accessed to a plurality of incentive pots by an alignment of another of the designated symbols. Each incentive pot is then accessed to the player by the alignment of selected ones of the predetermined alignments of the symbols along with the preselected value already designed these predetermined alignments.

  • Publication number: 20020178211
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program instructions for enabling users of pervasive devices to remotely access and manipulate information in ways that might otherwise be impossible or impractical because of inherent limitations of the device. The disclosed techniques enable a wide variety of data manipulation operations to be performed on behalf of the pervasive device, for a wide variety of content types. In preferred embodiments, no modifications or add-ons are required to the pervasive device.

  • Patent number: 6350911
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the preparation of amines by hydrogenation of nitro compounds, which comprises carrying out the hydrogenation in a vertical reactor whose length is greater than its diameter, having a downward-facing jet nozzle arranged in the upper region of the reactor through which the starting materials and the reaction mixture are fed in, and having an outlet at any desired point of the reactor, through which the reaction mixture is fed back to the jet nozzle in an external circuit by means of a conveying means, and having flow reversal in the lower region of the reactor.

  • Patent number: 6140539
Abstract: In a process for preparing amines, in which at least one compound containing at least one nitro group is reacted with hydrogen in the presence of a supported catalyst comprising, as catalytically active metal, nickel, if desired together with at least one metal of transition group I, V, VI and/or VIII, the reduced and stabilized supported catalyst comprises nickel crystallites having a bimodal nickel crystallite size distribution having maxima at 30-80 Angstrom and 81-150 Angstrom on a support comprising ZrO.sub.2, ZrO.sub.2 --HfO.sub.2 and/or SiO.sub.2 --ZrO.sub.2 and/or SiO.sub.2 --ZrO.sub.2 --HfO.sub.2 and in the reduced and passivated state has a nickel content of 60-80 percent by mass, an SiO.sub.2 content of 0-20 percent by mass, a ZrO.sub.2 content of 0-40 percent by mass, an HfO.sub.2 content of 0-4 percent by mass and after further reduction for one hour at 100.degree. C. has a degree of reduction of at least 70%.

  • Patent number: 6107738
Abstract: An optical emitter is provided, in particular for ultraviolet or infrared radiation, with a lamp bulb (1) from which extend at least two connecting wires (4, 5) for electrical connection, in each case through a stem press (2, 3) at the upper end and the lower end of the lamp bulb (1). The first connecting wire (4) is electrically connected with a first contact pin (15) via a flexurally rigid holding bracket (6), and the second connecting wire (5) is electrically connected with a second contact pin (16) via a metallic contact element (7). The contact pins (15, 16) each extend out from a bore of a ceramic base (10). To provide an improved optical emitter which can be manufactured with lower expenditures of time and cost, the holding bracket (6) and the first connecting pin (15) are designed in one piece and the first contact pin (15) is provided with an anti-slip safety on both sides of the first bore in the base (10).
