  • Publication number: 20200383833
Abstract: A medical device for removing lens tissue from inside a capsular bag of an eye including a cam assembly operatively coupled to a vacuum generation source positioned within the housing. A first portion is operatively coupled to the vacuum generation source and a second portion is operatively coupled to the first portion and to the shaft. The first portion is capable of rotating about an axis to cause the vacuum generation source to generate vacuum through the lumen. The second portion is capable of rotating about the axis with the first portion to cause the shaft to oscillate. A first degree of actuation of a trigger causes the vacuum generation source to generate vacuum within the lumen of the shaft, and a second degree of actuation of the trigger causes the shaft to oscillate as the second portion rotates. Related systems, devices, and methods are provided.

  • Publication number: 20200085619
Abstract: Described herein are devices and methods for creating a capsulorhexis. In some embodiments, the device includes a template with a tearing profile, which, when placed against the capsular bag, defines a perimeter of a capsulorhexis. In some embodiments, the device further includes rigid sections and bendable sections which are configured to transition the template between a first bent configuration for insertion through a corneal incision and a second unbent configuration for creation of the capsulorhexis. In some embodiments, the device further includes connecting elements which enter through the corneal incision and, when manipulated, transition the device between the first bent configuration and the second unbent configuration. In some embodiments, the connectors are configured to impart a downward force on the template and thus the capsular bag during the capsulorhexis creation.

  • Patent number: 10154924
Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to methods and devices for an ocular implant which can be positioned in the Schlemm's canal of a patient's eye for improving fluid flow, such as aqueous fluid, through the eye. The ocular implant can have a variety of shapes and sizes which can allow the ocular implant to be implanted in the Schlemm's canal for applying a force, including a predetermined force, along a part of the Schlemm's canal. The force applied by the ocular implant can change the shape of the Schlemm's canal which can increase the flow volume within and through the Schlemm's canal.
