  • Publication number: 20060222665
Abstract: The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition or a vaccine which comprises a mixture of viral protein molecules which are sequence variants of a single viral protein or of part of same. The invention furthermore relates inter alia to a DNA vaccine which codes for a mixture of structurally different virus proteins, the vaccine containing a mixture of sequence variants of a viral DNA molecule or of part of same which code for sequence variants of a viral protein or part. According to a preferred version of the invention, the viral proteins are sequence variants of the GP120 protein of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) which differ from each another in their amino acid sequence in the region of the V2 loop and/or of the V3 loop. The invention furthermore relates to the preparation of the virus vaccines including the intermediate stages or constructs, preparation processes and uses connected with them.

  • Publication number: 20040226836
Abstract: A holder for a mobile communication device comprises a receptacle for optimally reducing the SAR value of a mobile communication device secured within the receptacle. At least one material portion, a patch, causing electromagnetic losses may be placed within the receptacle to optimally reduce exposure to low level radio frequency energy to an individual carrying a mobile telephone secured within the receptacle. The patch formed of electromagnetic field reducing material may be placed in one or more particular areas of the receptacle to attenuate one or more corresponding regions of the mobile telephone in which the SAR value is substantially at a local maximum. This may allow a reduction of the SAR value of a mobile telephone while limiting the performance loss associated with the reduction of the SAR value of the mobile telephone when the mobile telephone is secured within the receptacle.

  • Publication number: 20040082370
Abstract: A method is provided for producing a housing of a mobile communication terminal, especially of a mobile radio terminal, a cordless telephone or the like, with at least one antenna for transmitting and/or receiving signals that is integral with the housing. The method includes the following steps: A) producing a housing blank from a non-electroconductive material with an antenna zone provided for the antenna; and B) providing the housing blank with an electroconductive antenna material in the antenna zone. A housing for a mobile communication terminal that is produced according to the method is also provided, as is a mobile communication terminal including such a housing.

  • Publication number: 20040046701
Abstract: The invention relates to a radio communications device in which at least one additional SAR value-reducing correction element (KE1) is provided in and/or on the housing (GH) in such a manner that the distribution of any electric current (EC1) which might be flowing on the printed circuit board (LP) is effected from one or more local maxima (MA) thereof up to the correction element (KE1). When using the mobile radio device (MP1), a homogenization and/or a shift thus adjusts with regard to the local distribution of the overall resulting electric current (EC1*).

  • Patent number: 6448942
Abstract: A tunable antenna includes separate radiator parts coupled to one another. The coupling between the parts is changed by rotating and/or displacing the parts with respect to one another such that the antenna exhibits a radiation pattern associated with a respective degree of a rotation and/or displacement. A process for manufacturing such antennas includes constructing parts for a respective antenna, coupling the parts to one another to permit them to rotate and/or displace, measuring the radiation pattern of the parts, and adjusting the radiation pattern by rotating and/or displacing the parts with respect to one another to set a nominal radiation pattern of the respective antenna formed by the parts. The couple is changed by rotation and/or displacement of the parts. A respective degree of rotation and/or displacement creates a corresponding change of a radiation pattern of the parts.
