Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel stone laying tool which allows for a perfect stone fit for irregularly sized and shaped stones. The tool is a compact, lightweight, one-piece device made from polypropylene and is positioned between two stones. More specifically, the tool has a pointed peg end and an opposite planar wedge end. The tool provides the functions of both a peg and a wedge and therefore eliminates the need to use separate wedges and pegs.

In one aspect, a percutaneous illumination device for illuminating a body cavity includes an elongate member with an illumination source, and two support members disposed on the elongate member that are adapted to be positioned on opposite sides of a tissue surface for stabilizing the device. Variations on such an illumination device, kits that include such devices, and methods of utilizing such devices are all described within the present application.

Abstract: A method of preserving individual information privacy for each of a plurality of customers while providing aggregated information about the plurality of customers includes storing static customer data and dynamic customer data of the plurality of customers in a protected database. The method includes restricting shared access to the static customer data and the dynamic customer data to a set of approved privacy-preserving queries. The privacy preserving queries include a privacy-preserving aggregation query that uses one or more parameters to indicate a characteristic of interest for which aggregation of the static customer data and the dynamic customer data is requested. The privacy-preserving aggregation query may be configured to retrieve aggregated customer data related to the characteristic of interest.

Abstract: A surgical stapler is provided having a cartridge arm for holding staples, an anvil pivotally connected thereto to deform fired staples from the cartridge arm, and a support for substantially preventing anvil deflection during staple firing to help insure proper staple formation. Some supports allow pivoting between the anvil and cartridge arm when in a first position, but prevent or hinder the pivoting action when in a second position. Supports can also be adapted to contact the anvil at a distal position relative to the pivot point between the anvil and cartridge arm. Exemplary structures of supports embodied as one or more links or as a sleeve are described. Methods of use are also discussed.
