  • Publication number: 20230194208
Abstract: A projectile, that can be tracked by optical means, is fitted with a special tracer incorporated into the projectile's trailing edge. The rearward facing special tracer is incorporated into a metal disk which is crimped to the projectile's metal jacket. The special tracer includes micro-prismatic features that reflect light at the incidence angle. Alternatively, the disk incorporates a fluorescent dye that is responsive to a laser emission. External emitted radiation is reflected or re-emitted from the trailing edge of the projectile, allowing for an external electro-optic tracking device to identify the position of the projectile in flight.

  • Publication number: 20230063568
Abstract: While a compiler compiles source code to create an executable binary, code is added into the compiled source code that, when executed, identifies and stores in a metadata table base and bounds information associated with memory allocations. Additionally, additional code is added into the compiled source code that performs memory safety checks during execution. This updated compiled source code automatically determines a safety of memory access requests during execution by performing an out-of-bounds (OOB) check using the base and bounds information retrieved and stored in the metadata table. This enables the identification and avoidance of unsafe memory operations during the implementation of the executable by a GPU.

  • Publication number: 20220379509
Abstract: Razor handles with integrated spring elements and/or methods of fabricating the same. In one example, a handle for a razor can comprise a head portion and a spring element having a distal end and a proximal end that longitudinally opposes the distal end to define an arc length of the spring element. The head portion can facilitate coupling razor cartridges in pivotal relation with the handle. The spring element can extend integrally from the head portion at the proximal end. The spring element can deflect as an abutment surface on the distal end travels in sliding engagement with a cam surface of a razor cartridge to an end point of the cam surface while exerting progressively increasing return torque as the razor cartridge rotates about a front pivot axis from a neutral position. The end point can fall proximal to a rear edge of the razor cartridge.

  • Patent number: 11474897
Abstract: Often there are errors when reading data from computer memory. To detect and correct these errors, there are multiple types of error correction codes. Disclosed is an error correction architecture that creates a codeword having a data portion and an error correction code portion. Swizzling rearranges the order of bits and distributes the bits among different codewords. Because the data is redistributed, a potential memory error of up to N contiguous bits, where N for example equals 2 times the number of codewords swizzled together, only affects up to, at most, two bits per swizzled codeword. This keeps the error within the error detecting capabilities of the error correction architecture. Furthermore, this can allow improved error correction and detection without requiring a change to error correcting code generators and checkers.

  • Publication number: 20220269558
Abstract: An error reporting system utilizes a parity checker to receive data results from execution of an original instruction and a parity bit for the data. A decoder receives an error correcting code (ECC) for data resulting from execution of a shadow instruction of the original instruction, and data error correction is initiated on the original instruction result on condition of a mismatch between the parity bit and the original instruction result, and the decoder asserting a correctable error in the original instruction result.

  • Publication number: 20220187155
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining Container Closure Integrity (CCI) in a container system comprising a container, an elastomeric stopper, and a retainer for retaining the stopper in place are disclosed. The systems and methods involve disposing, within a seal assembly, a component configured to sense a degree of compression of the elastomeric stopper. In a first implementation, the elastomeric stopper comprises an embedded positioning component embedded within the elastomeric material. The position of the positioning component is sensed using a detection system and the integrity of the closure is determined based on the position of the embedded component. In a second implementation, a force sensitive resistor is disposed within the seal stack to measure the compression of the elastomeric stopper. The compression of the elastomeric stopper is correlated to the integrity of the seal.

  • Publication number: 20220178806
Abstract: A system for sensing the volume and/or viscosity of a slurry (e.g., like concrete) contained in a rotating container or drum, having a sensor and a signal processor. The sensor is configured to attach inside a rotating container or drum having a known geometry, sense angular positions of the sensor and also sense associated entry and exit points when the sensor enters and exits the slurry, including concrete, contained in the rotating container or drum, and provide signaling containing information about the angular positions and the associated entry and exit points. The signal processor receives the signaling, and determines corresponding signaling containing information about a volumetric amount, or a viscosity, or both, of the slurry in the rotating container or drum, based upon the signaling received.

  • Publication number: 20220128336
Abstract: The method and apparatus for a remote weapon station or incorporated into manually-aimed weapons. The methodology requires use of a muzzle velocity sensor that refines the aiming of the second and subsequent fires or volleys fired from weapon systems. When firing the first volley a weapon uses an estimated velocity and, at firing, the muzzle velocity of a projectile is measured. When firing the second volley a weapon's fire control calculates an aiming point using the measured velocity of the first volley.

Analysis of the atomic ions can be performed by atomic analysis, such as mass spectrometry (MS) or atomic emission spectrometry (AES). Particle based ICP analysis includes analysis of particles such as cells, beads, or laser ablation plumes, by atomizing and ionizing particles in an ICP torch followed by atomic analysis. In mass cytometry, mass tags of particles are analyzed by mass spectrometry, such as by ICP-MS. Systems and methods of the subject application include one or more of: a demountable ICP torch holder assembly, an external ignition device; an ICP load coil comprising an annular fin, particle suspension sample introduction fluidics, and ICP analyzers thereof.
