  • Publication number: 20150107018
Abstract: An injection molded shower stall assembly or bathtub assembly particularly for use in a recreational vehicle includes an injection molded tub or shower base, which includes an integrally formed drainpipe which is externally threaded and adapted to easily and permanently be connected to plumbing for the recreational vehicle. Injection molded walls are formed to surround either the shower stall or tub. The injection molded walls have lower edges that interfit with edges of the tub or shower stall in a way which prevents water from flowing behind the preformed walls and holds the lower edges of the preformed walls in position, eliminating the need for any type of penetrating fastener along the base of the walls. The walls are formed in multiple sections that fit one on top of the other, with interfitting lower and upper edges, again to reduce the need for penetrating fasteners and to hold the sections in position.

  • Patent number: 8800450
Abstract: A shell with a subcaliber penetrator, which has a conical tailpiece, and with a basically disk-shaped propulsion element, wherein the conical tailpiece has a frustum-shaped recess that is open towards the rear end. The propulsion element is joined with the penetrator, preferably by a screw connection (projectile fastening bolt). To this end, a bolt element joins the propulsion element and the penetrator in the area of the tailpiece and has a borehole that is open at the rear end, into which propellant charge gases flow when the shell is fired and cause rending of the bolt element and thus separation of the propulsion element from the penetrator.

  • Patent number: 8580188
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a penetrator (10) from a tungsten heavy metal with a high fraction of tungsten and an outer sheath (7), which consists of a material that is more ductile in relation to the penetrator core (6). To produce a penetrator (10) of this type in a cost-effective manner, according to the invention a twin-hopper filling device, which corresponds to the dimensions of the penetrator core (6), is introduced concentrically into a compression mold (1) that corresponds to the outer dimensions of the penetrator (10). The inner pipe (3) is filled with a first tungsten powder blend with a high fraction of tungsten for producing the penetrator core (6), while the annular gap between the outer wall of the inner pipe and the inner wall of the compression mold (1) is filled with a second tungsten powder blend with a lower fraction of tungsten, (approximately between 85% and 91%), than the first powder blend.

  • Patent number: 8561544
Abstract: The invention relates to a projectile (1) having a sub-caliber projectile core (2) and a guide cage or sabot (3) that comprises a driving element (4), which acts on the projectile core (2) at the rear thereof and is in the form of a plate composed of metal. In order to produce such a projectile (1) at low cost, the projectile core (2) and the driving element (4), which is in the form of a plate, are inserted as inserts into an injection-molding tool, and are extrusion-coated so that the injection-mold shape is chosen so that the contour of the guide cage or sabot (3) of the projectile (1) is produced after the injection-molding process.

  • Patent number: 8516964
Abstract: The invention relates to a cartridge having a propellant charge casing at least partially filled with a propellant charge powder, and a projectile part connected on a front of the propellant charge casing, wherein the propellant charge casing comprises a casing cover, a casing sheath and a casing base, and the casing sheath is connected to the projectile part via the casing cover and to the casing base via a spring steel sheet. In order to achieve different amounts of propellant charge powder filled into the same propellant charge casing without igniting the propellant charge at undesirable blast waves, a sack-shaped container that is completely filled with the respective amount of propellant charge powder is disposed inside the propellant charge casing so that the container, and thus also the propellant charge powder, extends in the direction of the central longitudinal axis of the cartridge.

  • Patent number: 8424457
Abstract: A sabot projectile with a subcaliber projectile body and a sabot, which includes a propulsion element that acts on the rear end of the projectile body and a segmented, essentially cylindrical metal guide cage, which is located at the front end of the propulsion element. The guide cage has a central opening that extends in the axial direction, through which the projectile body is passed. So that the sabot projectile is relatively inexpensive to manufacture, has a low weight, and ensures good detachment of the sabot from the projectile body after discharge, the guide cage is a hollow cylinder, on whose inside wall preferably several radial transverse ribs are arranged, which are spaced some distance apart and extend both in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the sabot and in the direction of the projectile body.

  • Publication number: 20110176951
Abstract: The invention relates to a filler device (1) comprising an exterior tube (2) having an extrusion die (3) located therein and a filler piece (4) that is filled with a metal powder mixture in the intermediate space (8) formed between the filler piece (4) and the extrusion die (3), whereupon the intermediate space is closed. In order to compact the metal powder, the filler device (1) is placed in a hydrostatic pressing system and the metal powder mixture is pressed into a green preform. The pressed tubes are subsequently sintered in one or more passes through a furnace, for which purpose the pressed tubes are subjected to a preselected time/temperature progression so as to ensure that a melt of tungsten (W) forms and contracts evenly in all directions so that a geometrically desired solid body results after sintering.

  • Publication number: 20110124281
Abstract: A low profile roof vent incorporates a base portion which includes a water collecting tray extending down from a peripheral flange and a water shield portion extending from the opening of the vent towards the base tray. The base tray leads to a forward edge of the vent allowing any water collecting in the base tray to flow out from the vent onto the roof surface. The vent further incorporates a vent cover coplanar with the peripheral flange of the base. This provides a vent which lies flush with the roof surface, improving the aesthetic appeal of the roof.

  • Patent number: 7743571
Abstract: A vent is formed from vent panels that can be formed by injection molding or vacuum forming. The vent panels include upper and lower edges. The upper edge includes a nailing flange and a channel. The channel is coplanar with the outer surface of a nailing flange. The lower edge is a linear flange adapted to fit within the channel of the next adjacent vent panel. The vent includes a lower trim member that has a flange and a channel coplanar with the upper surface of the flange and adapted to receive the bottom edge of a vent panel. The lower trim member is designed to attach to the upper edge of vinyl siding. J channels or T channels are used then to trim out the remaining portion of the vent. This allows one to form a custom vent by combining vent panels as desired.
