  • Patent number: 7551555
Abstract: A communication network includes a base station in radio frequency communication with a mobile station. In order to regulate packet data messaging by the mobile station, the base station transmits a message over-the-air to the mobile station. The message indicates that the mobile station is to delay transmitting packet data messages and a duration of delay. In response to receipt of the message from the base station, the mobile station delays over-the-air transmission of packet data messages (e.g., Data Burst Messages) in accordance with the indicated duration.

  • Publication number: 20080303129
Abstract: The invention is directed a patterned contact sheet and to a method of bonding a cover wafer to an interposer wafer using the patterned contact sheet having a waffle-like pattern of a plurality of ridges and plurality of wells to form a cover/interposer combination or unit that can be bonded to a substrate having a MEMs device thereon, the cover wafer, interposer wafer and substrate together forming a protective packaging for the MEMS. Use of the patterned contact sheet results fewer defects on the window area (the critical area) through which light is transmitted. Surprisingly, use of the patterned contact sheet also results in windows having improved flatness relative to windows made using an unpatterned contact sheet.

  • Publication number: 20080289014
Abstract: A method and system for efficiently and securely permitting a user to scan electronic documents from a remote multi-function device to a user's home directory. A user can be authenticated via the multi-function device and electronic credentials associated with the user generated, which are utilized to determine the user's home directory. The multi-function device can then produce a customized template that can be selected by the user when accessing rendering/scanning services. The user can then scan a document and electronically store such a document at the home directory via an SMB (Server Message Block) protocol. Home directories can either be determined via an LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) or configured on a network interface via a default directory path and the user name.

  • Publication number: 20070140322
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for use in a wireless communication system are disclosed for recovery of timing tracking in a device, such as a wireless transceiver, after decoding errors occur due to incorrect timing tracking. In particular, the disclosed methods and apparatus recover timing tracking by monitoring a decoded signal in the transceiver for decoding errors occurring during a first frame, determining whether a number of decoding errors is greater than a predetermined amount, reacquiring a first pilot channel at a start of a subsequently received second frame when the number of decoding errors is determined to be greater than the predetermined amount, and resetting timing tracking of the transceiver based on the reacquired first pilot channel.

  • Publication number: 20070140385
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for use in a wireless communication system are disclosed for determining a timing position for channel activity in order to resolve timing ambiguity. A disclosed apparatus includes a processor that determines when channel activity occurs in at least one of an early or a late arrival position in a communication channel estimate and unwraps the channel activity in either the early arrival position or the late arrival position to a corresponding late or early arrival unwrapped channel activity position in the wireless channel estimate. The processor correlates symbol data in the communication signal corresponding to both the channel activity and the unwrapped channel activity to symbol data of the main channel activity. The processor determines whether a correct timing position of the channel activity is one of the early or late arrival positions based on the correlations, thus resolving timing ambiguity. Complementary methods are also disclosed.
