  • Publication number: 20090130098
Abstract: The invention relates to a combination therapy for the treatment of tumors and tumor metastases comprising administration of integrin ligands, preferably integrin antagonists, together with co-therapeutic agents or therapy forms that have synergistic efficacy when administered consecutively with said ligands, such as chemotherapeutic agents and or radiation therapy. The therapy results in a synergistic potential increase of the inhibition effect of each individual therapeutic on tumor cell proliferation, yielding more effective treatment than found by administering an individual component alone, concurrently or not in the dosage regime of the present invention.

  • Publication number: 20090072502
Abstract: A chuck body for a clamping chuck for clamping a workpiece has a substantially rotationally symmetrically formed basic body, provided on which is a receiving opening, which is formed as a portion of a cone and is formed for receiving a clamping head in such a way as to transmit force. Attached to the basic body is a deformation sensor, for example as a strain gauge, which is intended and designed for determining a deformation of the basic body in a circumferential direction. In this way, the condition and state of wear of the clamping chuck can be determined.

  • Publication number: 20080157453
Abstract: The invention relates to a clamping device (11) comprising clamping jaws (13) in which a plurality of clamping rods (16) are disposed. The clamping rods (16) are enabled to move by means of an interlinked system of rod chambers (22) and channels (24, 28) in which a magnetorheological fluid (26) is contained. If a magnetic field is applied by means of a magnet (30), the fluid solidifies, the liquid-carrying connection between the rod chambers (22) is interrupted and the rods (16) are fixed in a defined position.

  • Publication number: 20080012247
Abstract: A chuck (10) has a chuck body (12), which is provided with three guide devices (24), on each of which is received a radially movable clamping holder (34) for fixing a workpiece to chuck body (12), the guide device (24) being constructed separately from the chuck body (12). Guide device (24) is integrally joined by a polymer concrete filling (46) to the chuck body (12) for a force transfer between guide device (24) and chuck body (12). There is no need for a particularly precise manufacture of the outer contour of guide device (24) and the recess (20) in chuck body (12), because the polymer concrete (46) is able to compensate tolerances.

  • Publication number: 20070255942
Abstract: A method of enforcing a network security policy including mandatory access control (MAC), discretionary access control (DAC) and integrity control for a secure information network, includes operating a transport guard within a memory partition logically between a protected application running in the partition and a networking stack, and defining ports for the transport guard including (i) an application port for forwarding data to and receiving data from the application, (ii) a data port for receiving data addressed to the application from the networking stack, and for sending data originating from the application to the stack, and (iii) a control port for supplying configuration data to the transport guard. The configuration data corresponds to MAC, DAC and integrity control policies specified by the network for the protected application. The transport guard limits data flow between its protected application and the data ports accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20070210537
Abstract: Disclosed is a chuck for accommodating a collet chuck, comprising a housing and a chucking tool seat that is assigned to the housing. The chucking tool seat is embedded in the housing as a separate part via an intermediate filling that is made of polymer concrete as connecting means. Said design has improved properties regarding damping and the total weight while flat sub-areas that are composed of individual guiding plates can additionally be used as clamping areas of the chucking tool seat. Thus a pyramid-type joint is obtained, which could previously be created with the required precision only by using a lot of effort when producing the same from solid material.

  • Patent number: 6983522
Abstract: An exchange device for grip heads comprising a plurality of clamping jaws, consisting of a carrier plate having a borehole. Pivoting arms are axially staggered in relation to the carrier plate and are concentrically arranged in relation to the borehole. The pivoting arms are articulated by a joint in such a way that they can be pivoted in a plane containing the axis of the borehole. The pivoting movement is thus carried out radially in relation to the axis of the borehole. Coupling elements are arranged on the pivoting arms, by which the exchange device can be coupled to the clamping jaws of the grip head and detached from the same.

  • Patent number: 6966561
Abstract: Collet chucks (20) comprise at least two tensioning segments (21). Adjacent tensioning segments are connected to each other by way of elastic spacer elements (30). The tensioning segments (21) have back-cuts (22), whilst the spacer elements have correspondingly formed sections (36). A positive fit of the formed sections in the back-cuts of the tensioning segments (21) is thus possible.

  • Publication number: 20050245508
Abstract: The invention concerns methods of treating malignant gliomas, by administering inhibitors of TGF-? the TGF-? signaling pathway, including molecules preferably binding to the type I TGF-? receptor (TGF?-R1). Preferably, the inhibitors are non-peptide small molecules, including quinazoline derivatives. The invention also concerns methods for reversing the TGF-?-mediated effect on glioma cells to make them less refractile to signaling and other immune cells, comprising contacting a glioma cell or tissue in vivo or in vitro, with an inhibitor of TGF-?.

  • Patent number: 6182977
Abstract: The clamping apparatus (10) has a clamping ring (13) of an elastomer, which has a U-shaped cross section. The clamping ring (13) is seated in a recess (15) in a holding device (12) having parallel side walls. The recess (50) can be connected via a connecting line (18) to a hydraulic or pneumatic pressure source. The outside of the web part (21) of the U-profile acts as a clamping surface (24). Embedded in the area of this clamping surface is a number of clamping elements (27) made of a material of higher strength, in which at least that envelope line which faces away from the clamping surface (24) is exposed. The clamping elements (27) have the same axial extent as the clamping ring (13). One of the side walls of the recess (15) is formed by a clamping part (31), which is part of a clamping device (36) and is guided axially displaceably on the holding device (12) and is sealed off with respect to the latter by means of a circumferential seal element (34).
