  • Publication number: 20230396662
Abstract: Systems and methods of providing push-to-talk communication techniques in a multimedia conferencing session are provided. For instance, a push-to-talk mode can be implemented in a conferencing session associated with a conferencing system comprising a plurality of endpoints. At least one of the endpoints can be a full duplex endpoint. A request for transmission capabilities can be received from a first endpoint. Transmission capabilities can be granted to the first endpoint based at least in part on one or more floor control parameters associated with the conferencing session. Subsequent to granting transmission capabilities to the first endpoint, audio data can be provided from the first endpoint to at least one endpoint of the plurality of endpoints in the conferencing session.

  • Patent number: 8867996
Abstract: Area tracking systems including a plurality of short range sensors that are communicatively connected to a server and methods of tracking electronic devices. The electronic devices are tracked by polling for the electronic devices, the polling including transmission of electronic addresses corresponding to the electronic devices and determining whether a reply to the poling is received. The electronic addresses are each stored on one of a plurality of lists. Each of the lists may be polled at a different frequency and may include a different number of electronic device addresses.

  • Publication number: 20140233560
Abstract: A system and method for efficient and accurate establishment of SIP sessions between calling and called end-points. A calling endpoint creates a SIP INVITE request including a header portion and a body portion. The header portion includes standard routing information and the body portion includes additional information about the user and relevant to caller's intent. A SIP server receives a SIP INVITE request and determines an address of the called end-point as a function of the standard routing information contained in the header and the additional caller information contained in the body. The SIP server routes the session to the determined address.

  • Publication number: 20130141460
Abstract: A virtual incident representation capability is disclosed. The virtual incident representation capability is configured to represent a real world incident within a virtual world representation to provide thereby a virtual incident representation of the real world incident, which may be made available to people involved in the handling of the real world incident (e.g., operators at the safety answering point to which the real world incident is reported, responders in the field who have or will respond to the site of the real world incident, and the like). The virtual incident representation approximates the actual events of the real world incident in both space and time, and also may indicate the degree of certainty of at least a portion of the information included within the virtual incident representation. The virtual incident representation may be dynamic and interactive.

  • Patent number: 8040873
Abstract: A telephony communications network supporting translation of private signaling codes for transmission over a private and/or IP network. A digital telephone emits a private signaling code for accessing a particular PBX function. An adapter coupled to the digital telephone translates the private signaling code into a SIP invite, request, response, information, notification message, and/or instant message if the private signaling code is destined for the IP network. If the private signaling code is not destined for the IP network, the private signaling code is not translated and is transmitted over the private network. If the private signaling code is destined for the IP network, the private signaling code is translated into a SIP message and transmitted over the IP network to a SIP user agent. A PBX is also coupled to the adapter that receives the private signaling codes. The codes are transmitted to the PBX for rendering a function for the digital telephone.

  • Publication number: 20110140862
Abstract: In a telephonic system, a multiplicity of telephonic devices are connected through a telephone network. Each telephonic device incorporates therein a radio frequency identification (RFID) sensor capable of reading data from an RFID tag, e.g., a tag ID. The telephonic device sends the tag ID, and a reader ID identifying the RFID sensor through the network for an RFID application based on the tag ID and reader ID.

  • Patent number: 7852859
Abstract: A system and method for integrating a legacy IP-PBX to a session initiation protocol (SIP) network supporting one or more SIP sets. A SIP-PBX proxy server coupled to the legacy IP-PBX and the SIP network maintains a logical IP set for each SIP set on the SIP network. The logical IP set is configured to maintain IP-based signaling and media connectivity with the legacy IP-PBX. The SIP-PBX proxy server receives media directed to a logical IP set associated with a particular SIP set, and redirects the media to the particular SIP set. In doing so, the SIP-PBX converts messages that adhere to a private, vendor-specific protocol, to messages that adhere to the SIP protocol.

  • Patent number: 7747761
Abstract: A system and method for establishing a SIP session between calling and called end-points. A SIP server receives a SIP INVITE request for establishing the SIP session. The SIP INVITE request includes standard routing information in its header. The SIP server receives the SIP INVITE request and responds by transmitting to the calling end-point a HTML link associated with a web server. In rendering the contents of the HTML link, the calling end-point transmits an HTTP request to the web server including voice cookie information. The voice cookie information may include information gathered about the caller such as the caller profile information, transaction information, caller intent information, or recent and past history associated with a web site domain. The web server forwards the voice cookies to the SIP server. The SIP server determines an address of the called end-point as a function of the routing information in the SIP INVITE request and the voice cookie information.

  • Publication number: 20070266077
Abstract: A system for establishing a unilateral voice communication event between at least two nodes connected to a network has a first server operable on the network for receiving a request from a requesting node on the network and for forwarding the request for execution, a second server operable on the network, the second server for formatting the request in the form of a sequence of commands based on information associated with the request, the command sequence to establish the event; and a third server operable on the network, the third server for receiving commands of the command sequence and for establishing the event and implementing at least one state of operation on the recipient node. The event request is initiated by a single action performed at a requesting node and the established event is automatically answered without any physical tasking required or event alert received by the recipient node.

  • Patent number: 7095836
Abstract: An enhanced IP telephone taking advantage of the many call-related functions provided by existing PBX systems. The enhanced IP telephone includes a thin computer telephony integration (CTI) client transmitting to a CTI server a command associated with a particular call-related function provided by a PBX unit. The CTI server translates the command to a PBX command, and transmits the PBX command to the PBX unit for providing the particular call-related function to the enhanced IP telephone. Instead of the thin CTI client, the enhanced IP telephone may include an enhanced IP signaling protocol stack for accessing the PBX functionality using its signaling protocol. A CTI translator translates the enhanced signaling command to a CTI command for transmitting to the CTI server.
