  • Publication number: 20110138261
Abstract: A method and system for error management in a memory device. In one embodiment of the invention, the memory device can handle commands and address parity errors and cyclic redundancy check errors. In one embodiment of the invention, the memory can detect whether a received command has any parity errors by determining whether the command bits or the address bits of the received command has any parity errors. If a parity error or cyclic redundancy check error in the received command is detected, an error handling mechanism is triggered to recover from the errant command.

  • Patent number: 7945204
Abstract: A method and system are provided for determining a location of a satellite radio receiver and directing advertisements to the satellite radio receiver based on its current location. The current location of the satellite radio receiver is determined through communication with a wireless mobile device and a wireless communications network where the wireless mobile device is located in close proximity to the satellite radio receiver. Once a location is determined, a database of satellite radio advertisements is searched to identify advertisements directed towards a specific location, and these advertisements are transmitted to the satellite radio receiver across a satellite radio network.

  • Patent number: 7935409
Abstract: The roll properties of tissue sheets are improved either by imparting cross-machine direction dominant bar-like protrusions to the air side of the tissue by using specially woven transfer fabrics and/or by offsetting recurring surface features of the sheet relative to the surface features of adjacent sheets within the roll, such as by providing a throughdryer fabric with an offset seam. Both techniques provide the resulting tissue sheets with improved capabilities for providing an improved combination of roll bulk and roll firmness.

  • Patent number: 7920916
Abstract: One or more inductors and one or more capacitors are physically disposed relative to one another in series and are electrically connected to one another in parallel to form a bandstop filter. Chip inductors and chip capacitors having spaced apart conductive terminals are physically arranged in end-to-end abutting relation to minimize electrical potential between adjacent conductive terminals. The bandstop filter may be hermetically sealed within a biocompatible container for use with an implantable lead or electrode of a medical device. The values of the inductors and the capacitors are selected such that the bandstop filter is resonant at one or more selected frequencies, such as an MRI pulsed frequency.

  • Patent number: 7917201
Abstract: This invention relates to the detection of bioelectric signals indicative of neuromuscular function. A mapping biosensor array is first used to identify, relative to reliable anatomical landmarks, the optimal myoelectrical detection site for the majority of the population. Then a diagnostic biosensor array is fabricated using this information so that when the diagnostic biosensor array is positioned on an individual using the reliable anatomical landmarks, the detection electrode is automatically positioned over the optimal detection site.

  • Patent number: 7917702
Abstract: A system and method taught herein control data prefetching for a data cache by tracking prefetch hits and overall hits for the data cache. Data prefetching for the data cache is disabled based on the tracking of prefetch hits and data prefetching is enabled for the data cache based on the tracking of overall hits. For example, in one or more embodiments, a cache controller is configured to track a prefetch hit rate reflecting the percentage of hits on the data cache that involve prefetched data lines and disable data prefetching if the prefetch hit rate falls below a defined threshold. The cache controller also tracks an overall hit rate reflecting the overall percentage of data cache hits (versus misses) and enables data prefetching if the overall hit rate falls below a defined threshold.

  • Patent number: 7897918
Abstract: A system and method for improving FIB milling endpointing operations. The methods involve generating real-time images of the area being milled and real-time graphical plots of pixel intensities with an increased sensitivity over native FIB system generated images and plots. The images and plots are generated with raw signal data obtained from the native FIB system. More specifically, the raw signal data is processed according to specific algorithms for generating images and corresponding intensity graphs which can be reliably used for accurate endpointing. In particular, the displayed images will display more visual information regarding changes in milled material, while the intensity graphs will plot aggregate pixel intensity data on a dynamically adjusting scale to dramatically highlight relative changes in milled material.

  • Publication number: 20110042052
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a cooling material which comprises a first spectrally selective component that comprises particles. The particles are arranged for emission of radiation predominantly having a wavelength or wavelength range within an atmospheric window wavelength range in which the atmosphere of the earth has a reduced average absorption and emission compared with an average absorption and emission in an adjacent wavelength range. Consequently, the cooling material is arranged for emission of thermal radiation and absorption of radiation from the atmosphere within that wavelength range is reduced. The cooling material further comprises a second spectrally selective component having a property that distinguishes the second spectrally selective component from the first spectrally selective component and facilitates at least one desired function of the cooling material.

  • Patent number: 7893397
Abstract: An apparatus and method for using high beam currents in FIB circuit edit operations, without the generation of electrostatic discharge events. An internal partial chamber is disposed over the circuit to be worked on by the FIB. The partial chamber has top and bottom apertures for allowing the ion beam to pass through, and receives a gas through a gas delivery nozzle. A non-reactive gas, or a combination of a non-reactive gas and a reactive gas, is added to the FIB chamber via the partial chamber, until the chamber reaches a predetermined pressure. At the predetermined pressure, the gas pressure in the partial chamber will be much greater than that of the chamber, and will be sufficiently high such that the gas molecules will neutralize charging induced by the beam passing through the partial chamber.
